Biden vs. Musk
When Elon Musk took over Twitter, the left lost its collective mind. Some progressives abandoned the social media platform and corporations stopped advertising on Twitter. And that was just the beginning.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) put a bull’s eye on Elon Musk. The Wall Street Journal reports that the FTC has sent 12 letters to Twitter demanding all kinds of information, and harassing the company for virtually every significant change that Musk instituted. For example:
- The FTC demanded Twitter explain why it laid off thousands of employees.
- It demanded to know why Twitter fired former FBI counsel James Baker.
- It demanded to see every internal communication involving Elon Musk.
- It demanded to know the responsibilities of new executives.
- It demanded a detailed explanation for why certain journalists were permitted access to the so-called “Twitter files,” and how that was “consistent with privacy and security obligations.”
In short, this is further evidence of the left’s total weaponization of government to harass its political opponents. This is an obscure federal agency abusing its power to attack the First Amendment.
Radical leftists control Washington, D.C., and they’re angry that their monopoly on Big Tech has been broken. So, they’re determined to make life miserable for Elon Musk.
Don’t tell me Joe Biden’s a nice guy! He’s a bully.
The Uniparty Strikes Back
The irrational screams and fist pounding coming from all sides against Tucker Carlson for releasing surveillance video from January 6th is unbelievable and very telling.
Yesterday, Senator Charles Schumer, the majority leader of the United States Senate, demanded that Fox News censor and silence Tucker Carlson! Schumer’s remarks were an astonishing assault on the First Amendment and the freedom of the press.
But Schumer wasn’t alone. Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Thom Tillis (the establishment’s model senator), and others joined the attack against Carlson.
Washington lives off the publication of secret information. From the Pentagon Papers to James Comey’s memos, this city thrives off of leaks. But actual footage of an event we were told was an attempt to overthrow the government? Well, that’s just beyond the pale!
Why the outrage over this video? Eighty percent (80%) of Americans, including 86% of Republicans, 78% of Democrats and 75% of Independents, believe it is important for this information to be released.
So, why would Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell come together to condemn Fox News and Tucker Carlson? Why were many “journalists” so eager to condemn a journalist for doing journalism?
Because they’re all in on the uniparty agenda in Washington – open borders, global trade deals, cultural relativism, no-win wars, surrendering big decisions to unelected international organizations. It’s a very telling moment.
As Tucker Carlson said in response, “It’s not outrage. It’s fear. It’s panic.”
These establishment hacks share a visceral hatred, not just of Donald Trump, but of the idea that millions of working-class Americans -- all the deplorables in “flyover country” -- might rally again and dare to think that they should control their own destinies and the fate of their own country.
And anyone who doesn’t toe the line, who dares to question the official narrative must be silenced.
Biden’s Mandate Madness
Novak Djokovic was recently denied a visa to travel to the United States. He’s not connected to international crime. Nor is he on the terrorist watch list. No, Djokovic is the world’s top tennis player and he wanted to compete in a major tournament in California this month.
But the Biden Administration would not give him a waiver to enter the country. Why? Well, the healthy 35 year-old athlete has refused to take the COVID-19 vaccine. That’s why Joe Biden won’t let him into the country to compete in a tennis tournament.
And while Novak Djokovic isn’t allowed into the country, the Associated Press reports that Biden is getting ready to “relax COVID testing restrictions on travelers from China.”
Not only that, Biden has allowed 4.5 million illegal aliens to come into the country. There’s no way he could possibly guarantee that everyone crossing our wide-open borders is vaccinated. But they stopped Djokovic.
This is insane!
My recommendation is that Djokovic should fly to Mexico City and walk across the border. As an illegal alien, he’d be welcomed in and might even get a free stay at a nice hotel in New York City!
Remembering Reagan
As many readers know, I had the honor of serving all eight years in the Reagan Administration, first as Under Secretary of Education and later as the Chief Domestic Policy Adviser to President Reagan.
Like many Americans, I have tremendous appreciation for how Ronald Reagan “made America great again” after the Carter malaise, and how he unapologetically defended American values here at home and around the world.
Today happens to be the 40th anniversary of one of the most important speeches Ronald Reagan ever delivered. Reagan’s “Evil Empire speech” was, perhaps, the defining speech of his presidency, and it helped to redefine the world.
It was no accident that Reagan delivered this particular speech condemning the godless, communist Soviet Union as an “evil empire” before the National Association of Evangelicals.
Reagan urged pastors to speak out and to “beware the temptation of pride -- the temptation of blithely declaring yourselves above it all and label both sides equally at fault . . . and thereby remove yourself from the struggle between right and wrong and good and evil.”
While Reagan’s focus may have been foreign policy, his words ring true today. America needs its pastors to be engaged in today’s culture wars because the struggle between right and wrong, good and evil is just as intense as ever.
The “evil empire” may be gone. The threat of Soviet communism was defeated. But the neo-Marxists are still attacking America, assaulting our values and threatening our freedoms.
