The Supremes Step In

In a surprising development late yesterday, the Supreme Court ruled 5-to-4 that the Trump Administration’s Title 42 policy would continue to remain in effect at the southern border.

Is this ruling a good thing?  Yes.  But as some commentators have noted, it’s like a Band Aid on a hemorrhage.  Even with this emergency policy in place, the number of illegal aliens still pouring across the border is unlike anything we have ever witnessed.

I know many people are frustrated by the lack of public outrage over this crisis.  Well, the sad reality is that most Americans just don’t know about it.  They think the number of illegal aliens crossing the border is much lower than it really is

The reason they believe that is because the same people who are censoring the media, the leftists in Big Government and their allies in Big Media, are not talking about this crisis.

So, your friends and family members have absolutely no clue unless they are listening to conservative radio, watching Fox News or reading reports like ours.

Root Causes

Twenty-one months ago, Vice President Kamala Harris was appointed “border czar,” and tasked with addressing the “root causes” of illegal immigration.  As I just noted above, the problem has only gotten dramatically worse since then.

The “root causes” of this problem are left-wing open borders policies for which Joe Biden deserves to be impeached

Meanwhile, the Biden Administration is gaslighting us.

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas continually says “the border is secure” and is not open.  If the border is not open, why is the Biden Administration building massive tents to accommodate the massive numbers of people walking across the border?

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre says illegal immigration is such a problem because Republicans keep saying the border is open.  And the White House’s media allies dutifully repeat that absurd charge.

Over the Christmas weekend, more than 16,000 illegal aliens were encountered at the southern border.  Just over 2,000 were expelled under Title 42, but more than 14,000 were released into the United States.

They were likely given smartphones by the Biden Administration, one way it is supposedly tracking illegal aliens in the country.  It’s not working.  The Biden Administration has “lost” nearly 380,000 illegal aliens in its “alternatives to detention” program.

Within 48 hours, most of them had been transported deep into the United States, courtesy of the federal government.  Those 14,000 people are going to do what you often do when you arrive at a destination after a long trip.  They’re calling home to tell everyone what the trip was like and that they’re now safely in Omaha, Las Vegas, Nashville or Washington, D.C.

Now, who do you think is more persuasive?

Is it Mayorkas who insists the border is secure?

Is it Karine Jean-Pierre who says the border is closed?

Or is it thousands upon thousands of illegal aliens who are telling their relatives that the border is open and they just walked right in?

A Season of Joy & Peril

While American Christians celebrated another Christmas in peace and prosperity, the same could not be said for many Christians in various nations around the world.  This season of joy is also a season of great peril.

According to a recent report by Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), Christian persecution is on the rise around the world.  The organization examined conditions in 24 nations and found that conditions for Christians had deteriorated in 75% of them over the past two years.

In that time, more than 7,500 Christians have been slaughtered in Nigeria by militant Islamists.  Bishop Jude Arogundade denounced the indifference of other nations, saying:

“No one seems to pay attention to the genocide.  The world is silent as attacks on churches, their personnel and institutions have become routine.  How many corpses are required to get the world’s attention?”

Referring to Palestinian terrorism in the Middle East, I have often commented that the American media has a high tolerance for dead Jews.  The same is also true of black Christians in Africa.

Predictably, the Biden Administration refuses to do anything about it.  Once again, this State Department under Secretary Antony Blinken’s leadership has refused to label Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” for religious persecution.

As we prepare for the new year, please pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters overseas, and pray that 2023 will be the year when the genocide against Christians in Africa and the Middle East comes to an end.
