Media Malfeasance
The media and their left-wing allies are refusing to take any responsibility for their inflammatory and outrageous rhetoric that has now caused two assassination attempts against former President Donald Trump. (See next item.)
But they are attacking Trump for saying there are reports that Haitians in Springfield, Ohio, may be stealing and eating pets. And because he said that, they now claim that bomb threats are being called into places all over Springfield by hateful, mean-spirited xenophobes.
When I first heard about the alleged bomb threats, I thought to myself, “How does this work exactly?”
Trump raises questions about the cultural propensity of some Haitians. Then bomb threats are called in to Springfield. But the threats don’t go to Haitians. They go to city government offices and to public schools. Trump supporters are blamed.
This makes no sense whatsoever!
Governor Mike DeWine just announced that an investigation revealed all the bomb threats came from outside of the United States. MAGA had nothing to do with them.
Could it be the Iranians, who will do whatever it takes to prevent Trump from winning again? Could it be the Chinese, who hate his tariffs? Could it be the Russians, who don’t want to see America become great again?
We know our foreign enemies are attempting to stoke racial and political divisions in the United States. And when the left tells us, “It’s all Trump’s fault,” they are actually doing our enemies’ dirty work for them.
Unhinged Hate
Any time an alleged hate crime occurs, the left immediately blames conservatives and our speech. In fact, the left wants to censor speech in order to prevent what it calls “hate speech,” which the left gets to define. Well, there’s a lot of “hate speech” directed at Donald Trump.
As I recently noted, Kamala Harris accused Donald Trump of praising neo-Nazis. How full of hate do you have to be to repeat such a blatant and disgusting lie?
David Plouffe, a senior Harris advisor, said, “It is not enough to simply beat Trump. He must be destroyed thoroughly. His kind must not rise again.”
Last night on MSNBC, Hillary Clinton was right back at it. Barely a day after the attempt on Trump’s life, she declared, “We can’t go back and give this very dangerous man another chance to do harm to our country and the world.”
I could go on and on with other examples from left-wing politicians, pundits, and celebrities. (Here and here.)
You may recall the rash of sick anti-Trump statements, videos, “art,” and displays from previous years that were appropriately condemned as “assassination porn.” That sickness is still raging within the left.
While I’m no fan of Chris Cuomo, he deserves credit for his reaction to the second attempted assassination of Donald Trump. Cuomo said he called Trump and apologized for the way the media are covering that horrific event.
Cuomo also praised Trump’s courage, saying:
“I don’t know how he stays in the race. How he got up after being shot in the head. . . He gets up, pumping his fist, stays in the race. . . If I had been through what that guy’s been through in the last two months, you would not know where I am. You would never see me on TV again. No way I would do that. I don’t know how he does it.”
Another Secret Service Scandal
Joe Biden suggested that the real problem is that the Secret Service is underfunded and needs more money. He told reporters, “One thing I want to make clear is: The Secret Service needs more help. And I think Congress should respond to their need.”
Maybe Joe Biden should talk to the head of the executive branch to see if that person could move resources around in the last 50 days of the campaign to boost Secret Service protection.
Oh, wait – he is the head of the executive branch. Or so we’re told.
It’s not surprising that the Democrat answer is to simply throw more money at the problem. But money may not be the real problem.
Investigative reporter Susan Crabtree published a column recently warning that the Secret Service and other protective agencies “have been compromised by Iranian intelligence assets.”
A former senior Obama intelligence official told her that various protective services “have been penetrated by people who are wittingly or unwittingly providing tangible support for Iranian network activities in this country.”
One curious incident was an arrest that took place the day before the attempt on Trump’s life in Butler, Pennsylvania. Pakistani national Asif Raza Merchant was arrested by the FBI and charged with plotting to kill Donald Trump and other U.S. officials on behalf of the Iranian regime.
Another disturbing incident was a bizarre scheme uncovered in 2022. Pakistani nationals, pretending to be Department of Homeland Security agents, fooled several members of President Biden’s Secret Service detail for years.
Around this same time, a Secret Service employee applying for a critical security-related position, failed a counterintelligence polygraph test over potential terrorist connections. Incredibly, the individual wasn’t fired.
Instead, the employee became a security-clearance adjudicator, meaning they were in charge of granting or denying security clearances to other Secret Service personnel.
Is it just an odd coincidence that the day before the Butler assassination attempt, an Iranian agent is arrested for trying to kill Donald Trump, and the guy who tried to kill Trump this weekend wrote a book in which he expressed his hope that Iran would kill Trump?
A New York Times reporter covering foreign fighters in the Ukraine war interviewed Sunday’s would-be assassin, Ryan Routh, about his efforts in Ukraine. How did she manage to find him? She said that a contact in Afghanistan had a well-connected source in Iran who recommended him.
So, this reporter managed to contact an American fighting in Ukraine through a source in Iran. I can’t be the only one who finds this suspicious.
We also know that Iran compromised the private emails of Trump’s campaign.
We know that Rob Malley, Biden’s special envoy to Iran, was quietly put on leave last year after his security clearance was suspended. It was later reported that Malley and several of his associates may have been part of an Iranian influence operation inside the Biden/Harris administration.
This is the kind of stuff that journalists could win major awards for investigating, if they weren’t so busy defending Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio.
Here We Go Again
So far, the FBI, the Secret Service, and the media just can’t find any motive for why Routh tried to kill Donald Trump. Here are a few clues:
- He was a Democrat donor.
- He has a Biden/Harris sticker on his truck.
- He parroted left-wing talking points on social media about Trump threatening democracy.
- He wrote a book urging Iran to kill Trump.
But the “experts” are clueless.
We should be broadminded when we consider what could be going on right now.
When one plane crashed into one of the World Trade Center towers, millions of Americans immediately thought, “What a horrific accident.”
When the second plane flew into the second tower, all but the most dimwitted said, “We are under attack.”
One assassination attempt can be chalked up to the actions of another unstable nut.
When a second assassination attempt occurs within a few weeks, you have to start asking if we and Trump are under attack.
