Trans Agenda On Trial

The atmosphere outside the Supreme Court today was “electric” as it once again became a critical battleground in America’s culture war. 

Dueling demonstrations took place outside the court, while inside the justices heard oral arguments on a major transgender controversy: Do boys and men claiming to be girls and women have a right to compete in female sports?

Common sense and biology say “NO!” The American people have said “NO!” But the battle rages on because the LGBTQ movement and its supporters in the Democrat Party refuse to back down. 

How this case is decided will tell us a lot about where the justices stand on the larger list of LGBTQ public policy demands. Scores of amicus briefs have been filed that also show the deep divided between the two political parties.

More than 100 congressional Democrats filed a brief on the side of men being allowed in women’s sports and bathrooms. 

More than 200 female Republican legislators filed a brief on the side of fairness for American women.

Former female Olympic athletes who competed before Title IX and after Title IX filed a brief saying the insanity of men in women’s sports has to stop, or it will blow up everything women have worked so hard to achieve. (Title IX guarantees fairness for women and girls in sports.) 

Even the liberal Washington Post gets it. In an editorial Monday, the Post wrote that “unfettered trans inclusion” risks “abolishing women’s athletics entirely.” 

The Post correctly noted that there are clear biological differences between male and female athletes. The editors declared that state laws protecting girls’ sports are not “unlawful discrimination” but “reasonable concessions to immutable reality.”

What’s At Stake

Twenty-nine states currently have laws or regulations banning boys from cheating in girls’ sports. Transgender activists are challenging laws in two of those states—Idaho and West Virginia. 

They are making two radical claims: that banning biological boys from girls’ sports is illegal sex-based discrimination under Title IX and that the 14th Amendment’s equal protection clause demands transgender girls (boys claiming to be girls) must be treated the same as biological girls.

Lawyers for the trans movement are hoping they will because of a really bad Supreme Court decision five years ago in which Justice Gorsuch and Chief Justice Roberts sided with the transgender movement. They better not do it again. 

But what they could do is agree to vote with the other conservative justices only if the majority opinion is as narrowly decided as possible. 

Obviously, it would be a complete disaster if we lost the case 5 to 4. But a narrow ruling that Gorsuch and Roberts might support would also be a deep disappointment. It would resemble a decision made last year on banning transgender treatments for minor children.

That decision only said states could ban such medical interventions. It was not the sweeping decision I would have preferred that protected all children from transgender procedures and banned such barbaric practices in all states.

The court could do the same thing in this case, ruling that states can but are not required to protect girls’ sports from boys claiming to be girls.

On the other hand, it would be a huge victory if the majority wholeheartedly affirms common sense and biological reality. Such a decision would declare that states must not allow boys to compete in girls’ sports and that girls’ and women’s private spaces cannot be violated by anyone who is not a biological female. 

There are real consequences to left-wing insanity overriding common sense. Girls have been seriously injured by being forced to compete against bigger and stronger boys. 

Female inmates are being raped by male convicts who were sent to female prisons after claiming to be women. And here’s a disturbing statistic: More than 51 percent of these men in women’s prisons were sentenced for sexual crimes.

Leftist Hypocrisy

Iran is in a state of chaos, if not civil war. Iranians demonstrating against the Islamic regime are being mowed down in the streets. Iran is 99% Muslim, so the people being murdered are virtually all Muslims. 

Yet, our college campuses are silent. Where are the kaffiyeh-wearing students marching for justice? No Democrats are running to the microphones, saying, “How long can this slaughter continue?” 

What’s wrong, Mayor Mamdani? Are you silent because you can’t blame it on the Jews?

There is no international body pounding the table saying the Iranian regime is violating human rights. No one on the Left is accusing the ayatollah of genocide. 

Greta Thunberg, shouldn’t you be engaging in civil disobedience?

Some leftists claim they aren’t antisemites; they’re just against what the Israeli government is doing in Gaza or elsewhere. Well, that same argument ought to drive left-wing college students into the streets to protest the Iranian government. But it’s not happening.

Pray For The Fall Of The Islamic Republic

The Islamic Republic of Iran was founded for the purpose of destroying Israel and exporting its brand of Islamic supremacy across the globe. Iran’s mullahs believe that the Muslim “Messiah” will come soon and kill all the Christians and Jews. If the ayatollah’s regime falls, there will be a crisis of faith in the radical Islamic world. 

The end of the Islamic Republic would be a huge victory for peace and stability because without the tyrants of Tehran there would be no Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, or Houthi rebels. 

Standing For Freedom

President Trump is standing firmly behind the Iranian people fighting and dying for their freedom. He posted this statement of support this morning:

“Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING -- TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!! Save the names of the killers and abusers. They will pay a big price. I have cancelled all meetings with Iranian Officials until the senseless killing of protesters STOPS. HELP IS ON ITS WAY. MIGA!!!” 

Minnesota Mayhem

The scenes coming out of Minnesota are outrageous and unacceptable. Mobs of radical leftists are harassing and attack federal immigration police to prevent them from doing their jobs. 

One of the claims open border Democrats make is that the people of their “Blue” cities are living in fear of federal immigration police. Do these scenes out of Minnesota look like anyone is living in fear? Rabid leftists are regularly assaulting federal immigration police!

Now, the Illinois and Minnesota state governments are suing the Department of Homeland Security, claiming that enforcement of federal immigration law violates states’ rights guaranteed by the 10th Amendment.

Wow! It’s a modern miracle! Left-wing Democrats are now in favor of states’ rights.

They applauded when the Supreme Court struck down every state law on abortion and every state law defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. They applauded when the Supreme Court banned school prayer. 

Democrats have passed law after law dictating how states must run their schools, their neighborhoods, housing programs, environmental programs, etc., etc.

But now, in a totally bizarre move, Democrat politicians who have always claimed that federal law trumps state law are suing the federal government based on states’ rights. And Big Media will never call them out for their gross hypocrisy. 

The Big Lie

People with big platforms are libeling and slandering Jonathan Ross, the federal immigration police officer who defended himself from a vehicular assault last week in Minneapolis. 

Sunday night it was Hollywood celebrities at the Golden Globe Awards. Actress and comedienne Wanda Sykes accused Ross of murder, adding, “We need to speak up and shut this rogue government down.” 

NBA coach Steve Kerr told reporters, “It’s a shame [that] we can have law enforcement officers who commit murder.” 

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed that Ross “assassinated” Renee Good.

Rep. Ilhan Omar accused Ross of “clearly murdering” and “executing” Good.

Murder is a specific term that means acting with premeditated intent to take an innocent life. Ross has not been charged with murder. He has not been convicted of murder. There is no way Ross is guilty of murder.

But this demonizing rhetoric from celebrities, sports figures, Democrat politicians, and radical left-wing activists forced Ross and his family into hiding.

This is yet another example of the Big Lie, and the Left does it all the time. Remember when Jimmy Kimmel told his audience that Charlie Kirk’s assassin was MAGA? That was an obvious lie!

Remember when President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas all accused two Border Patrol agents of acting like slave owners whipping their slaves? It was totally false. 

After a full investigation, the agents were cleared. But their spouses, children, and other family members suffered because three of the most powerful people in America lied about them.

Inflation Remains In Check

The latest economic data shows that inflation remains in check. Inflation rose by just 0.2% in December, less than economists predicted, for an annualized rate of 2.7%, close to the Federal Reserve’s target of 2%. 

The report also found that contrary to the “conventional wisdom,” Trump’s tariffs have had very little inflationary impact.
