A Marine’s Tears

 

The House Foreign Affairs Committee heard testimony yesterday from Tyler Vargas-Andrews.  He was one of the most heartbreaking witnesses I have ever heard. 

 

Sadly, he’s just the latest in a long and growing list of victims of the woke Biden/Harris Administration.  He joins families who have buried children killed by fentanyl poisoning, the victims of Biden’s crime wave and his open borders, as well as those crushed by COVID overreach. 

 

It was impossible not to shed a tear listening to Vargas-Andrews. 

 

He’s a Marine who was on duty at the Kabul airport the day 13 of our heroes were viciously murdered during Joe Biden’s chaotic retreat from Afghanistan.  And he broke down in tears as he described for members of Congress what happened that tragic day.

 

Vargas-Andrews had the suicide bomber in his sites.  But he could not get his chain of command to authorize him to take out the terrorist.  He was told, “Do Not Engage.” 

 

He called his battalion commander up to the watch tower and again asked if he could shoot.  His commander answered, “I don’t know.”  Vargas-Andrews said, “Who does?”  His commander said he would find out and left.  But he never answered. 

 

Not long after that exchange, 183 people, including 13 U.S. military personnel, were dead.

 

When Vargas-Andrews woke up from the explosion, every part of his body, except his face, was riddled with ball bearings and shrapnel.  He could not get up.  He lost an arm and a leg.  More importantly his soul is crushed.  He’s a warrior who was told not to fight. 

 

Anyone wondering why so few young Americans are volunteering for the military has to look no further than this betrayed hero. 

 

 

 

No More No-Win Wars

 

Vargas-Andrews told members of the committee, “Plain and simple we were ignored. Our expertise was disregarded. No one was accountable for our safety.”

 

His superiors weren’t the only ones who ignored him.  Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer controlled the House and Senate for the first two years of Biden’s presidency. They had plenty of time to hear his testimony.  But they ignored him, too. 

 

Biden’s allies didn’t want to hear what he had to say.  And they really didn’t want YOU – the American people – to hear him. 

 

Why was the greatest military in the world unable to defeat a bunch of Afghan sheep herders?  It wasn’t for a lack of manpower or firepower.  It was a lack of will in Washington.

 

This is why many of us are sick and tired of no-win wars!

 

We don’t want any more wars under “leaders” who lack the will to fight.  We don’t want any more wars abroad until we have leaders committed to victory, committed to letting our warriors win!

 

Joe Biden’s surrender to the Taliban was an utter catastrophe, and there’s been zero accountability. 

 

That’s a hallmark of the left.  They push insane policies (see next item), and there’s never any accountability for the tragic results of their predictable failures – whether it’s reckless spending, open borders, soft-on-crime policies or “America Last” foreign policies.

 

My friends, accountability will be in our hands on November 5, 2024.

Biden’s War On Women

 

The Biden White House hosted a ceremony yesterday celebrating International Women’s Day.  They said it was an opportunity to honor 11 truly exceptional and heroic women.  Except they honored only 10 women and one man. 

 

Because of insane leftist dogma, the Biden White House included a biological man, thereby erasing a real woman who should have been at the White House to receive this honor.

 

“Ms. Alba Rueda,” the man selected to attend the White House celebration, might win a contest at a costume party, but he’s not a “heroic woman.” 

 

To fully appreciate just how deep the rot is in our government today, you need to read how the State Department, which co-sponsored the event, described Rueda:

 

“Alba Rueda, Argentina’s current Special Envoy for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. . .  Ms. Rueda was the driving force behind Argentina’s executive order on the transgender labor quota in the public sector. . .

 

"She actively campaigned to change the name of the National Women’s Conference to the ‘Plurinational Conference of Women and Lesbian, Cross-Dresser, Transgender, Bisexual, Intersex and Non-Binary Persons’ to include diverse, dissident, and racialized identities. . . Her hope is to establish an LGBTQI+ foreign policy agenda and mainstream it into the various . . . multilateral fora and bilateral relations.”

 

So, Joe Biden’s White House and State Department really wanted to honor a man who advocates for “radicalized identities,” who forced transgender hiring quotas in the government, and who wants to “mainstream” this insanity in foreign policy. 

 

This is a perfect reflection of Joe Biden’s priorities.  Rueda’s presence at the White House yesterday proves it.

 

First Lady Jill Biden reportedly kissed Rueda, although not quite as passionately as she kissed the second husband during the State of the Union address.  Secretary of State Antony Blinken thankfully chose not to kiss him.  In some circles, that makes Blinken a bigot. 

 

 

 

The Left’s War On Normalcy

 

You can laugh, but this is deadly serious.  Leftists are playing “God,” believing they can change reality.  But both God and science say there are only two genders.  Anything else is insanity that denies reality.  The truly compassionate thing would be to treat it as such, not to indulge it.

 

This is worse than Rachel Elizabeth Seidel and Rachel Dolezal, who claimed to be “transracial.”  Both women fooled everyone around them into believing they were something they weren’t.  We all seem to understand that what they did was fraudulent, dishonest and delusional.

 

In Rueda’s case, this is a man insisting he is a woman.  He needs mental therapy!  Not an award for “courage.”

 

Meanwhile, the people currently running our State Department and the White House demand that we embrace this insanity or run the risk of having the Justice Department come down on our heads or risk losing our children, as if we’re the ones with the problem!

 

Maybe Asa Hutchinson isn’t angry yet, but I’m furious!

 

My friends, this isn’t just Democrats and Republicans disagreeing over marginal tax rates.  This is government-enforced insanity waging war on normalcy!  The inmates are literally running the asylum.

 

Here’s the good news:  The public is totally with us.  For example, polling finds that 77% of voters believe that Biden’s attempt to twist Title IX regulations to force schools to allow men to compete in women’s sports is “harmful” to women and girls. 

 

To the pastors in our pulpits and the politicians in elected office:  Wake up, and speak the truth to your congregations and constituents.

 

 

 

More Left-wing Lunacy

 

While we’re on the topic of left-wing lunacy, let me introduce you to Rep. Cori Bush.  Various scripture verses tell us that you are known by the company you keep.  So, it’s not surprising that many people are asking questions about Rep. Bush’s relationship with Nathaniel Davis, III. 

 

Mr. Davis is one of Bush’s private bodyguards.  Bush, who is famous for her “defund the police” advocacy, spends lavishly on private security.  And her employment of Mr. Davis is setting off alarm bells.

 

Davis also goes by the name “Aha Sen Piankhy.” He’s a former member of the New Black Panther Party, claims to be 109 trillion years old, capable of summoning natural disasters at whim and his social media posts reek of anti-Semitism. 

 

Presumably, Bush, who has flirted with anti-Semitism herself, is aware of Piankhy’s extreme and bigoted views.  But for some reason, she’s held up as a “social justice hero.”  She’s even got her own Ben & Jerry’s flavor!  (And that tells you everything you need to know.) 

 

 

 

The Power of Prayer

 

As many of you know, my wife, Carol, writes a monthly Prayer Alert.  I am proud to say that her March Prayer Alert was picked up by our friends at The Stream, and is featured prominently at the top of their website.

 

If you’re not familiar with The Stream, I highly recommend it.  It’s one of my daily “go-to” sources.  It’s a fantastic news and commentary site created by Pastor James Robison.  Not surprisingly, it has a strong biblical perspective.
