Thou Shall Not Mess With Ten Commandments

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals just ruled that a Texas law requiring displays of the Ten Commandments in public school classrooms is constitutional. The Texas law and another in Louisiana had been blocked by lower court judges. 

Supreme Court rulings on religious liberty in recent years have been absolutely clear. I have every reason to believe that if this case ends up before the high court, a majority of justices will affirm the Texas law. This really shouldn’t be controversial at all.

The Pilgrims were devout Christians. Our Founding Fathers declared that our rights come from our Creator—the God of the Bible. The “separation of church and state” is nowhere to be found in our Constitution. 

The writings and public statements of our Founders and the laws they passed made it clear that America was founded on the values of Judeo-Christian civilization, the foundation of which is the Ten Commandments. That is simply a historical reality. 

The fact that leftist lower court judges still play games with our religious liberty and religious heritage is another indication of how the culture war is a battle to the very end over what kind of a country America will be. 

Many of the people who are screaming, “You can’t let a child see the Ten Commandments at school,” are the same people demanding that your child spend “quality” reading time with drag queens. 

They’re the same people who want your 7-year-old to be taught about gay sex and encouraged to question their “gender identity.” And if we say, “I don’t want my child subjected to that,” their answer is, “You don’t get to decide.” 

The Left will change positions on a dime depending on how it advances their side of the civil war over what America is. Don’t fall for the Left’s contradictory arguments.

Don’t Mess With The Bible Either!

Bishop Yvette Flunder leads the City of Refuge United Church of Christ in Oakland, California. She’s an outspoken lesbian and LGBTQ activist, and she’s got a problem with the Bible. Obviously. 

She is advocating tearing out pages of the Bible containing verses she doesn’t agree with. In her opinion, the Bible isn’t the Word of God but just “words about God.” 

She also said, “This is a very dangerous thing that I’m about to say now. . . I’m of the opinion that we need a third testament because the Bible has become problematic.” Actually, God thinks the bishop is problematic.

Bishop Flunder didn’t say who was going to write this “third testament.” Perhaps she was volunteering herself or maybe she will outsource the job to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a drag queen group that mocks nuns.

The bishop is on thin ice. There are multiple warnings in the Old and New Testaments about adding or subtracting from the Scriptures, as well as false teachers preaching to itching ears.

Presumably Bishop Flunder went through theology school and training. If she thought the Bible was problematic, why stay on a path to lead a church? Because leftists want to poison the church just like they have poisoned every other institution in America. 

They poisoned sports, the Boy Scouts, our public schools and our universities. Anything that stands as a bulwark against godless secularism, the Left takes it over and poisons it. They either destroy it or they “fundamentally transform” it into an advocate for their cause.

It all started with a bunch of “pastors” in the last 20 years deciding that Jesus really wants them to fly the flag of sodomy pride outside their churches. 

The Trans Elder

The only transgender member of Congress (Quick class: Which party does he belong to? If you said Democrat, you’re right!) announced that he is an ordained elder of the Presbyterian Church (USA). That’s the same denomination as the seminary attended by Texas Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico. 

During his seminary studies, Talarico learned that the Bible promotes abortion and our “nonbinary” God wants open borders. His view of the Scriptures strangely mirrors the Democrat Party platform. 

Do you see the pattern? A lesbian bishop in California, a transgender congressman from Delaware, and a radical seminarian who is the Left’s great hope to turn Texas Blue. 

Many Christians say they just don’t want to get involved in politics. Well, the Marxist, nihilistic Left in America intends to lead your churches!

Toto, We’re Not In Kansas Anymore

Trump’s Department of Education is taking legal action against four Kansas school districts that were hiding students’ “gender transitions” from their parents and allowing boys to use the girls’ bathrooms. 

Remember when we used to talk about the insane things that “San Francisco Democrats” would do? Well, this is Kansas, folks. 

Where’s The Outrage?

Much of the media downplayed the federal indictment against the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). Or they spun it as “another Trump attack on civil rights” and tried to turn the SPLC into a victim.

Here’s what they are covering up: The SPLC wasn’t fighting for civil rights. It was funding racist groups, including the KKK, that have thankfully virtually disappeared. In other cases, they paid individuals to go to events being sponsored by groups on the Right in order to stir up violence and make headlines about racism. 

Their goal was to manufacture and magnify the perception of growing racism among white Americans. Think about that for a second. 

Just imagine it was discovered that a conservative group was funding radical Black power organizations and hiring Blacks to scream racist things at White people because the conservative group wanted White people to think hatred and extremism was growing among Blacks. 

Can you imagine the legitimate outrage there would be? You would want the people who did that to be thrown in jail, and you’d want the key to be thrown away. But that’s exactly what the SPLC was doing, only it was smearing White Americans, not Blacks. 

This disgusting strategy fits right in with what the teachers’ unions have done in our schools. Because of critical race theory and “diversity, equity and inclusion,” minority children are being taught that White children are bigoted and will always try to oppress them. This is a poisonous message, and Democrat politicians have been exploiting race forever. 

When we say, “You should have an ID to vote,” they immediately play the race card. Often, they cited the SPLC to claim there is growing racism and hate in America. 

The level of outrage over the SPLC’s disgusting race baiting is far lower than it should be. Democrats defending the organization ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Civil Wrongs

The civil rights movement led by Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., brought needed change and made America a better nation. His core teaching that we shouldn’t judge people based on the color of their skin but on the content of their character is exactly right. 

I wish that idea had gained more traction. Sadly, Dr. King’s vision of a colorblind society has fallen out of favor with today’s Left, which is obsessed with race.

But what about some of the other civil rights movements these days? I think Dr. King would be disgusted by them. The most prominent one is the transgender civil rights movement. 

People claiming to be transgender already have all the rights every American has under the Constitution. They have freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom of assembly, the right to vote, and so on. But what has the misnamed “transgender civil rights movement” accomplished since it burst onto the scene? 

It created a dangerous subculture of violent trans radicals. They have been involved in multiple schoolshootings, the ambush of federal immigration police, the murder of a Border Patrol agent, the killing of Charlie Kirk and attacks on churches.

Everywhere the trans movement goes, it undermines religious liberty and the rights of parents to make the most important decisions in the upbringing of their children. It empowered deranged, money-hungry doctors to make millions of dollars mutilating little children, sterilizing them and doing incredible harm to their bodies. 

Everywhere trans ideology has taken root, women’s privacy in bathrooms, changing rooms and locker rooms has been violated by men claiming they are women. Trans activists force our daughters to compete against boys in sports. 

They spread the lie that what a woman is cannot be defined. And they demand that you lie by denying biological reality and calling a man “she.” 

This is not a civil rights movement. It is a civil wrongs movement. President Trump is holding it at bay and has rolled it back in some cases. But in every place Democrats control, it continues to advance relentlessly. 

Power Grab Paused

Late yesterday, a Virginia circuit court judge blocked the Democrats’ radical redistricting plan from taking effect, finding the vote was unconstitutional. This judge had previously ruled against the redistricting plan. Virginia’s Democrat attorney general, who fantasized about the children of his political opponents being murdered, is appealing to the state supreme court.

In 2020, 66% of Virginia voters approved a constitutional amendment creating an independent redistricting commission to take politics out of the process—to prevent exactly what the Democrats just did. The 2021 Virginia congressional map was hailed as one of the best redistricting maps in the nation. 

None of that stopped Gov. Abigail Spanberger and Richmond Democrats from blowing all of that up. They didn’t do a normal gerrymander going from a 6 to 5 map to an 8 to 3 map. No, they went all the way to a 10 to 1 map. 

What does that tell you? As they keep saying, they are at war with us. But don’t take my word for it. House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries declared that Democrats are in an “era of maximum warfare all the time.” When someone tells you they are at war with you, you need to believe them. 

They’re telling us every day that they intend to destroy us. So why aren’t Republican senators listening to them? Instead of going on offense by eliminating the filibuster, they’re stuck in the fetal position, saying, “Oh, we can’t do that. They will do it to us.” 

That ship has sailed. Yes, they absolutely will do it, and they will change the law so we never win another election.

By the way, former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer says he has been told by reliable sources that the Supreme Court has made a decision on a major voting rights case that would wipe out anywhere from 12 to 20 Democrat House seats. 

But the dissenting liberal justices are slow-walking their opinion, hoping to delay the decision’s announcement until it’s too late for states to act on it before this year’s election. (They did something similar with the Dobbs decision.) 

Just another indication that leftists see themselves as soldiers in the culture war who will do whatever they have to do to win.
