Trump Gets Denmark Deal

President Trump announced a major deal with Denmark Friday evening over America’s role in Greenland. In a Truth Social post, the president wrote that the deal “gives the United States permanent control over security . . . in Greenland.” 

The president added that “no U.S. adversary can EVER . . . have a military presence in Greenland, or make sensitive investments in Greenland” without approval from the United States. This is an incredibly important deal because Communist China was moving aggressively to establish a foothold on the strategic island.

I’m sure you’ll recall how controversial the president’s interest in Greenland became earlier this year. But how many times do we have to see this play out to know this is how he negotiates? He starts out with a “big ask” that may seem intimidating, and eventually the other side makes a deal.

But Greenland wasn’t about vanity. The president wasn’t going to name it “Trumpland.” The island is critically important to our economic and national security. Whoever controls the Arctic is probably going to win the next world war, and there will be another world war.

Common Sense Concerns

Democrats and their media allies at CNN and the Washington Post are having a meltdown. A recent poll found that nearly half of Michigan residents said they would not vote for a Muslim candidate. 

To the Left, the poll is evidence of widespread bigotry. They are worried their Marxist Muslim Senate candidate, Abdulraham Mohamed El-Sayed, could lose this November. I see the poll as a sign of good health. In fact, I wish the percentage was higher.

We are in a worldwide conflict with elements of Islam. Almost every day, we see radical Islamists engaged in violence and undermining free societies. Often, after an attack by an Islamist, their neighbors will express shock and puzzlement. So, we’re clearly having trouble sorting out the Muslims who embrace our Judeo-Christian values from the bad Muslims who are intent on ultimately making us an Islamic nation.

We also see the example being set by Muslim political activists and elected officials. Rabid antisemite Linda Sarsour is hardly an example to emulate. Hate is being preached by radical imams in mosques throughout the country.

Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib routinely lambast America, smear our military and spout disgusting antisemitic rhetoric. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his wife have made excuses for Islamic terrorism.

Being concerned about Islamist candidates is just common sense. Michigan voters aren’t bigots. They are right to be concerned about a Muslim candidate who says he is obligated to follow Sharia law, which is not compatible with our Constitution.

The rush to defend El-Sayed and blast anyone who questions him as a “bigot” is another example of the Left playing the “race card.” “Free Palestine” has become the new “Black Lives Matter.” It’s not meant to spark debate but to shut down debate.

By the way, someone should poll Michigan’s Muslim residents and ask them if they would vote for a Jewish candidate. I won’t hold my breath waiting for that poll.

Ed Sheeran’s Mea Culpa

I guess it was bound to happen. Ed Sheeran cracked this weekend under growing pressure from left-wing terrorist sympathizers. 

When he took the stage Saturday night, Sheeran felt compelled to apologize for the controversy that antisemitic rapper Macklemore started when he spread lies about Israel. While Sheeran condemned the October 7, 2023, massacre by Hamas, he also said Israel’s reaction was “catastrophic and unjustifiable and disproportionate.” 

His apology is sad.

The evil and sadistic terrorists who attacked Israel on October 7th deliberately embedded themselves among Gaza’s civilian population. They did so hoping people like Sheeran would say stupid things when civilians are inevitably killed in the crossfire, and it works. 

The radical Islamists are weaponizing our Western sensibilities and turning them against Israel, the only democratic nation in the Middle East.

I feel sorry for Ed Sheeran. He had absolutely no idea what was coming for him when he crossed the leftist mob. He had no way to prepare for the fury that resulted when the Jew-hating rapper was fired from his concert tour. And he said so Saturday night. He told his audience:

“In these situations, you really find out who your friends are. I have so many people telling me to cancel this tour and so many people falling out of my life that I’ve known for years and years and years, people just kind of backing away. . . people I know abandoned me.”

Moderate No More

Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger should be a warning to anyone who thinks they can trust a Democrat candidate who claims to be “moderate.” Spanberger campaigned as a “moderate,” but once she was elected, she ripped her moderate mask right off. She has pushed Virginia to the left every day she has been in office.

Friday, her administration quietly announced that it killed regulations that were being developed to prevent boys from cheating in girls’ sports and invading their private spaces, including locker rooms and changing rooms. Her action comes as more and more Democrat candidates are trying to confuse voters about where they stand on radical gender ideology.

Texas Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico, who “loves trans kids,” now says he opposes mutilating transgender surgeries on minors. But the “out lesbian” chaplain at his church says he’s lying and will go back to his radical left-wing views once he’s elected, just like Abigail Spanberger. Don’t fall for it!
