Random Thoughts on 9/11
The Aftermath
It’s been 25 years since the Islamic terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001. The mantra has been “Never forget,” but even those of us who lived through it tend to forget what the atmosphere was like after the attack. The whole country was waiting for more to be unleashed against us.
- Just one week later, letters contaminated with anthrax started appearing all over the country. Media outlets and members of Congress were the primary targets. Twenty-two people were infected, and five died.
- One year later, the metro Washington, D.C., area was paralyzed with fear when the Beltway sniper attacks began. John Allan Muhammad and his accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo, both Muslims, shot 13 people. They murdered ten.
- Back then, “see something, say something” was real. It actually meant something. People were looking, and they did speak up.
- Normal air traffic didn’t resume for at least a week, but everything was different. People boarding planes felt like we were in the middle of a war.
I will always remember something that to this day I find incredibly encouraging. For some time after 9/11, when I would take my seat toward the front of the plane, the other men and I would all look at each other, and someone would say, “Are we all on the same page—that if something happens, we’re going to fight back?” We were recruiting among ourselves.
As you know, Todd Beamer formed an “American militia” on Flight 93 and led those heroes down the aisle against Islamists armed with boxcutters. Little did he know that he wasn’t just inspiring recruits to fight foreign wars, but he inspired recruits to fight here, if necessary.
The Enemy
In the years that followed, Al Qaeda was smashed. ISIS was reduced to a shadow of its former self. But, sadly, Islamic extremism is alive and well.
After the Pearl Harbor attack in World War II, it took a long time for Americans to start thinking nicely about the Japanese again. But not long after 9/11, our globalists started bringing in more people who shared the same extreme ideology as the people who attacked us on 9/11.
As a result, the “new” New York City, which is nothing like the Big Apple of 25 years ago, elected Zohran Mamdani, a Ugandan Twelver, as mayor. If you’re not familiar with the term “Twelver,” you should be.
That’s the branch of Shia Islam that believes there is an Islamic messiah, the 12th imam, coming to conquer the world. We will recognize him because he will slaughter Jews and Christians. Twelvers believe they have a moral obligation to speed up his return by stoking violence and war around the world. This is why we are at war with Iran. Donald Trump understands that these fanatical Islamists must never have nuclear weapons.
This week, over 110,000 New Yorkers begged Mamdani to not defile the sacred ground of 9/11 today, given what he has said about 9/11 and where he gets his support from. He made it clear that their distaste for him would not stop him from casting a cloud on today’s events. No matter what he says, we know what he represents.
By the way, Mamdani and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were seen laughing about something as the names of the dead were read out loud today.
Post-9/11 Unity
There is a lot of nostalgia for the unity we shared in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. While it was better than today, there were obvious deep divisions even then.
When the hijacked planes crashed into the Twin Towers, President George W. Bush was in a Florida kindergarten class reading to children. Suddenly, Chief of Staff Andy Card approached the president, leaned over and whispered in his ear, “A second plane hit the second tower. America is under attack.”
President Bush remained seated as he considered Card’s words and then continued to read to the children for seven minutes. Then, he calmly addressed the nation with what few details he had and headed to Air Force One.
Democrats and the media pounced. They attacked Bush for not immediately running out of the room with his “hair on fire.” What was he supposed to do? Go fly a fighter jet? As commander-in-chief, he knew the American military was already in action. But even at that moment, the Democrat Party and the media wanted to score cheap political points.
Others today imagine that “So many people around the world loved us then.” Not true. The entire European Left wrote editorials and speeches essentially saying we deserved 9/11 and we should restrain ourselves, or we’ll make things worse.
I will also never forget seeing the “wonderful” people in the West Bank and Gaza running out into the streets, shooting guns in the air, and handing out candy to children celebrating what had just happened.
And I will never forget the Israeli people lowering their flag and mourning with us. They did that because we share the values of Western Civilization. Of course, Israel had itself suffered grinding wars of Islamic terror. Over those years, if you add up all the broken bones, ripped flesh and spilled blood, Israel’s losses were greater than what we suffered on 9/11.

Where We Are Today
The GOP Midterm Convention
I believe the historic Republican Party midterm convention was a grand slam home run! We’ll see what impact it has. Donald Trump is always great in front of a crowd, but JD Vance and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., showed what stars they truly are, too.
Reconquistador Crashes The Convention
There is no question that JD Vance is ready for the presidency. During his speech, a protester started screaming and waving a Mexican flag. I guarantee you he is a “reconquistador”—one of the people who think they are reconquering the American Southwest through mass migration.
Vance put this protester in his place. He said, “Well, my friend, if you love Mexico so much, get you’re a-- over there. I’ll buy you the plane ticket!” The crowd erupted in cheers.
Kennedy Goes Scorched Earth
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., went scorched earth on the Democrat Party last night. If you missed his remarks, watch them here. He was incredible! But one particular part really jumped out at me.
Kennedy remarked that Donald Trump called him just three hours after he had been shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, and asked for a meeting. After several meetings, Kennedy said he “realized that everything that I had heard about President Trump and everything I believed about him from the mainstream media was a lie. Everything.”
Kennedy also reached out to Kamala Harris. She wouldn’t even take his call. So, he dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed Donald Trump.
Kennedy said his Democrat friends called him a “fool” for trusting Trump. Last night, he declared, “I want to make the record clear right now. President Trump has kept every single promise that he made to me without exception.”
The Convention & 9/11
There was a lot of talk about 9/11 at the GOP convention. That’s not surprising given the timing. But it wasn’t all honors and tributes. There were plenty of warnings about the future of our country.
The reality is that dangerous Islamists and terrorist sympathizers are running for elected office across America today as Democrats. The Democrat mayor of New York City is a Twelver. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib are already in Congress. They may soon be joined by:
- Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed (US Senate Michigan) He runs around with rabid antisemite Hasan Piker, who said we “deserved” 9/11. His sister praised the October 7, 2023, Hamas massacre of innocent Israelis. His mother worked for an organization that financed terrorists. El-Sayed just spoke at a conference of Islamic extremists and has mocked America’s response to the 9/11 attacks.
- Adam Hamawy (NJ-12) He defended Hasan Piker’s disgusting comments. He worked for a group with ties to Al Qaeda and was a character witness for Omar Abdel-Rahman, the “Blind Sheikh” responsible for the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center.
- Melat Kiros (CO-1) She refused to condemn the firebombing of Jews by a Muslim extremist in Boulder, Colorado. She also blamed the United States for the 9/11 attacks.
- Darializa Avila Chevalier (NY-13) A Muslim convert, Chevalier founded an organization dedicated to “the total eradication of Western civilization.” She called the United States a “f—king disgrace” and wiped her dirty hands on an American flag.
- Aisha Wahab (CA-14) In spite Hasan Piker’s bigotry and hatred of America, Wahab appeared on his show last month. She accused Israel, and by extension the United States, of committing “genocide” in Gaza. She would end all US military aid to our ally Israel.
- Chris Rabb (PA-3) Rabb is another friend of Piker’s. Rabb has accused Israel of committing “genocide” in Gaza and supports a total arms embargo against Israel. He has used the rhetoric of Palestinian extremists in social media posts.
This week, we remember 9/11, and the GOP held its convention to explain to the American people that, in its own way, 9/11 is on the ballot this November. Did we win against Al Qaeda and ISIS only to lose to these people here at home?
There is no excuse for failing to vote this November. We each must do that and more to save our country.
