The Democrats’ Piker Problem

The Democrat Party establishment is coming to the realization that its association with Hasan Piker and people like him could really hurt them in November if they don’t clean it up fast. 

Their first response, claiming the party is a “big tent,” went over like a lead balloon. Who wants to be in a tent with communists, radical Islamists and antisemites? New talking points have clearly gone out from the Democrat National Committee. 

Now, whenever Democrats are asked to comment on Piker, the response is, “Well, he’s not me.” Or they just dismiss it, saying, “The average voter isn’t thinking about that.” But here’s what they want the public to forget: Everything that Hasan Piker says on the issues of the day is exactly what the grassroots of the Democrat Party believes. 

• Piker supports socialism. Polls show that a majority of Democrats support socialism. Among young Democrats, it’s a big majority.
• Piker supports open borders. The base of the Democrat Party supports open borders. It wants to abolish our federal immigration police and grant amnesty and citizenship to illegal aliens.
• Piker is anti-American and believes the country must be torn down and rebuilt into something completely different. Polling shows most Democrats are not proud of America and think other countries are better than us.
• Most Democrats refuse to fly the American flag. Democrat socialist Darializa Avila Chevalier joked about wiping her dirty hands on the American flag. 

So, this is just a shell game. Democrat politicians are running around saying, “I’m not like Hasan Piker.” Maybe not. But their voters are! 

It’s insane to suggest that Piker is some sort of oddity on the Left. He is one of the biggest social media influencers in the country. He’s not attracting Republicans and independents. They’re not asking to go on his show. Democrats are asking to go on his show, and they are asking Piker to campaign with them. 

Trump’s Massive Deal

There are serious conversations under way about the United States taking a significant ownership stake in several Venezuelan oil fields. If the Venezuelan government agrees to this, and we obviously have a lot of leverage, it would double America’s oil reserves. That’s a good thing. 

It could result in Venezuela dropping out of OPEC, weakening the cartel’s leverage over the global energy market. That’s also a good thing. One U.S. official said, “Calling this deal ‘huge’ would be an understatement. It is massive.”

Not long ago, Communist China bought 70% or more of Venezuela’s oil exports. Now it’s virtually nothing, as the U.S., India and European nations are buying the overwhelming majority of it.

Leftists were going nuts yesterday because President Trump was trolling Canada by renaming Lake Ontario as “Lake America.” Meanwhile, he’s doing incredibly important work for the good of the country that Democrats can’t even conceive of. (See next item.)

Canada Is Compromised

President Trump’s renaming of Lake Ontario dominated American “fake news” outlets over the last 24 hours. But as we approach the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the government-run news agency in Canada, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), has just told its reporters not to refer to the 9/11 attacks as “terrorism” or “terrorist attacks.” 

So, calling the people who flew planes into buildings and the Pentagon “terrorists” is some kind of inappropriate value judgment? How many people at the CBC think the Islamist hijackers had a good reason for killing 3,000 people, including dozens of Canadian citizens?

Trump was trolling Canada. They’re not trying to troll us. They’re being controlled by Canada’s growing Muslim population. 

Shapiro’s Measles Mess

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is thinking about running for president in 2028. He must not be looking at the polls showing how much the Democrat base not only hates Israel but hates Jews.

He held a press conference earlier in the week and claimed two Pennsylvanians had died from measles. Shapiro said the deaths involved unvaccinated people in Lancaster County. He blamed Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and the Trump administration for spreading “misinformation” about vaccines. 

But it’s Shapiro who appears to be spreading misinformation.

The Lancaster coroner’s office says it has conducted just one autopsy related to measles—a newborn baby that died from a ruptured spleen. While measles antibodies were discovered during postmortem testing, the infant was obviously too young to have been vaccinated.

Meanwhile, everything you are hearing from the “mainstream media” makes it sound like we are in the middle of an unprecedented measles outbreak. Here’s some perspective: 

• In 2025, there were just under 2,300 measles cases in the United States.
• There were nearly 5,500 measles cases in Canada last year, in spite of the fact that Canada has about 12% of the population of the United States. 

The most important part of this story is that this is exactly what public officials and the left-wing media did with COVID. Anthony Fauci and others lied to us. They used COVID as a political weapon. They caused a mass panic and did it all for their own political purposes. Yet, after everything we have learned since then, including in recent months, Shapiro appears to have done it again.

Good News

• The Trump administration is suing four more states (22 in total) for providing in-state tuition benefits to illegal aliens while denying those benefits to American citizens from other states.
• Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is leading efforts to expose three leading radical, left-wing organizations: the Council on American-Islamic Relations, George Soros’ Open Society Foundations and the Southern Poverty Law Center.
• A federal appeals court ruled that Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) must stand trial for assaulting a federal immigration police officer last year outside of the Delaney Hall detention center.
• Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that the Sunshine State will prevent welfare recipients from using taxpayer-provided benefits to buy “inappropriate, luxury or non-essential items.” Hopefully more states will follow Florida’s lead.
• The state of Illinois will not attempt to force faith-based doctors and nursing homes to advocate for the state’s new assisted suicide law while legal challenges to the law proceed.
