The Results

Six states held primary elections yesterday. Here’s my take:

  • Outsider candidates did well last night. Republican Steve Hilton finished first in the race for governor of California with 28%, followed by Democrats Xavier Becerra at 25% and Tom Steyer at 20%. (Steyer spent $220 million to finish third.)
  • In the Los Angeles mayoral race, incumbent Karen Bass (D) finished first with 34%, a dismal showing for the mayor. She was followed by insurgent Spencer Pratt (R) at 30% and socialist Nithya Raman at 22%.
  • In the race to replace Nancy Pelosi, radical left-wing State Senator Scott Weiner (D) came in first with 41%, followed by San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan (D), Pelosi’s endorsed candidate, at 29%. Weiner and Chan will face off again in November. Apparently, Pelosi is now too moderate for San Francisco Democrats.
  • These numbers will shift some in the days ahead. California’s election system is a complete mess. More than 40% of the ballots still have to be counted, and the state is still accepting mail-in ballots until Tuesday. It took 10 days before 95% of the ballots were counted in the 2024 primary!
  • New Jersey Democrats nominated Adam Hamawy for the open 12th Congressional District. He was endorsed by Bernie Sanders, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and antisemitic social media influencer Hasan Piker. He also has ties to Al-Qaeda and the “Blind Sheikh,” Omar Abdel-Rahman, mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. He effectively won election to Congress last night by winning the Democrat primary in this deep Blue district.
  • In South Dakota, incumbent Gov. Larry Rhoden (R) was forced into a runoff against entrepreneur Toby Doeden (R), who led the governor 31% to 25% in a four-way race. At least a dozen Republican incumbent state legislators were defeated in primary races.
  • Iowa broke President Trump’s endorsement winning streak. Businessman Zach Lahn narrowly defeated Rep. Randy Feenstra, who was endorsed by Trump, 38% to 37% in a crowded five-way race.

Trump’s Economy

Contrary to the Left’s narrative of gloom and doom, the economy continues to demonstrate strength. Job openings from March to April increased from 6.9 million to 7.6 million. In other words, businesses are looking to hire more workers. In addition, payroll company ADP reports that private businesses hired 122,000 new employees in May, beating economists’ expectations. That was the largest monthly increase in hiring since January 2025.

And there is more good news. Major corporations continue to announce expansion plans in U.S. manufacturing. Boeing is investing $1 billion in its Kansas factories, and Eli Lilly is investing an additional $4.5 billion in its Indiana manufacturing plants.

I know many families are struggling with high gas and grocery prices right now. But it is hard to find any evidence that there is a significant slowdown in the economy. President Trump’s pro-growth policies are working.

Speaking of economic issues, Democrats routinely denounce President Trump’s historic tax cuts as a “give-away to the rich” that does nothing for the middle class. This Washington Post headline will give them heartburn: “Most [Tax] Filers Claiming GOP Tax Breaks Made Less Than $100,000.”

Here’s how it breaks down. Those reporting incomes under $100,000 made up:

  • 90% of the people claiming Trump’s “No Tax on Tips” deduction.
  • 75% of the people claiming Trump’s “No Tax on Overtime” deduction.
  • 68% of the people claiming Trump’s “No Tax on Social Security” deduction.
  • 62% of the people claiming Trump’s deduction for American-made automobiles.

And every Democrat in Congress voted against these tax cuts for working families. Remember that when you vote in November.

Michigan & Muslims

Mass immigration into the United States from Third World countries has exploded over the past 50 years. It has been encouraged by corporate America and both political parties. And it is changing our country. Demography is destiny.

So much so that Hamtramck, Michigan, has an all-Muslim city council. Dearborn, Michigan, has one of the highest concentrations of Muslim residents in the United States. Michiganders are having second thoughts about the wisdom of such immigration policies.

A new poll finds that only 19% of Michigan residents believe mass immigration from poor countries has helped the state, while 35% say it’s been bad for the state. The rest thought it made no difference or didn’t know.

The poll asked an interesting follow-up question: Has Michigan accepted too many or too few Muslim immigrants. Only 6% of Michigan residents said “too few,” while 37% said “too many.”

When it comes to reforming our stupid immigration laws that are literally importing hatred of Western Civilization, the public is a lot further along than the Republican establishment. The GOP establishment would be apoplectic if a Republican candidate said, “We are allowing too many anti-Western Muslims into our country.”

Well, in 2016, one candidate did say that—Donald Trump.

Democrats Circle The Wagons

In spite of daily scandals rocking the Senate race in Maine, Democrats are circling the wagons and defending extremist Graham Platner. The self-proclaimed communist with a Nazi tattoo was in Washington, D.C., yesterday meeting with top party leaders and attending fundraisers.

Senator Bernie Sanders is unfazed by Platner’s controversies and reaffirmed his support. Sanders said he was standing behind Platner because “he has had the guts to stand up to the big money interests [and] to fight for healthcare.” Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer also offered his support to Platner.

Virginia Senator Tim Kaine met with Platner yesterday. During an appearance on CNN, Kaine refused to condemn Platner’s Nazi tattoo, even though host Kasie Hunt pressed him repeatedly. Kaine basically said he didn’t have a problem with the Nazi tattoo.

But it wasn’t just a Nazi tattoo. Platner had the “Totenkopf,” a skull and crossbones, tattooed on his body. It’s called the “death’s head” for a reason—it was the symbol of the Nazi SS units that guarded the concentration camps.

Kaine and other Democrat apologists are saying, “Look, Platner saw a lot of bad things when he was fighting in the Middle East, and a lot of soldiers do this sort of thing when they are suffering from trauma.”

No, they don’t!

So, the Democrat Party is saying, “Well, I know the guy with the Nazi tattoo will be a real fighter.” Wow! That is a compelling argument. Why didn’t they think of this before? They could recruit guys with Nazi tattoos all over the country.

But it’s worse than that. They are smearing the typical American veteran who has seen combat. They don’t come back with Nazi tattoos. They don’t demean victims of sexual abuse. They don’t praise Islamic terrorists. They don’t mock the heroism of fellow soldiers.

It just shows you what a low opinion Democrats have of the people who wore the uniform of the United States of America.

Supremes Clear The Way

After a bumpy ride through the courts, the Supreme Court yesterday cleared the way for Alabama to redraw its congressional map. The new map should give Republicans one additional House seat.

The state attempted to do so after the justices provided new guidance in the Callais decision on how the Voting Rights Act should be enforced. But lower federal judges stepped in and blocked the map. Their action against the new Alabama map was bizarre and inexplicable.

The Supreme Court usually waits 32 days before it formally finalizes opinions and transmits them to lower courts. In this case, the justices finalized the opinion in a week in order to give states as much time as possible to adjust their maps to the new ruling.

In other words, the Supreme Court obviously went out of its way to greenlight exactly what Alabama was trying to do. And they have only done that twice in the past 25 years.

Left-wing Hate

Last month, Carol and I attended the Rededicate 250 event on the National Mall. It was a wonderful time of prayer, praise and worship as we approach the 250th birthday of our nation. But hate-filled leftists in our nation’s capital repeatedly tried to sabotage the event.

For days leading up to the event, equipment for the massive production was being vandalized. Among other things, generator gas lines were cut, resulting in fuel contaminating an underground water supply.

Now imagine a big left-wing event on the National Mall—maybe something for “Pride Month.” If that event were subject to repeated sabotage, there would be 24/7 coverage telling us that “right-wing hate in America is out of control.” But I see virtually no media interest in this leftist anti-Christian sabotage.
