BREAKING NEWS—Just as we were getting ready to publish today’s report, President Trump announced that the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates asked him to postpone planned military strikes on Iran because significant progress is being made in talks to end the conflict.

 

 

Rededicate 250

 

Carol and I joined thousands of men and women of faith on the National Mall yesterday for Rededicate 250. It was an incredible day of prayer, praise and thanksgiving! People were still lined up waiting to get through security hours after it started. If you missed the broadcast yesterday, you can watch it here.

 

President Trump addressed the multitudes via a video message. He read from 2 Chronicles: 

 

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

 

Vice President J.D. Vance quoted John Adams, who wrote, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” That was true then, and it is true today. Our Founding Fathers believed that only a moral and virtuous people could remain free.

 

America was founded on the belief that our rights come from God, not government. In officially atheist nations, including Communist China and North Korea, government is god, and you have no inherent and unalienable rights.

 

Predictably, the Washington Post, NPR, CNNand other left-wing media outlets are hyperventilating today about the “separation of church and state” because President Trump and other administration officials spoke at this “overtly Christian” event. (By the way, you won’t find the phrase “separation of church and state” anywhere in the Constitution.)

 

But the critics don’t know their own history. Our Founding Fathers were not hostile to religion. Nor did they expect the government to be neutral on the matter of religion. 

 

The 1787 Northwest Ordinance, one of America’s first laws, states, “Religion, morality, and knowledge, being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged.”

 

In his farewell address, President George Washington wrote:

 

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great Pillars of human happiness. . .

 

“And let us with caution indulge the supposition, that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that National morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.” 

 

 

 

The Power Of Prayer

 

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth also spoke at Rededicate 250 yesterday. He reminded us that while our rights come from God, a nation is only as strong as the faith of its people. That leads me to a disturbing report from the American Bible Society, which found that “less than a third of American parents pray with their children.”

 

Whenever they have power, secular leftists do all kinds of things to restrict our religious liberty. But nobody can tell you what you can do in your home with your children. If you’re not doing such a simple thing as praying regularly with your children, step up! Grandparents, pray with your grandchildren. 

 

Parents are a child’s most important teachers. They learn what is important to you by watching what you do. 

 

 

 

Trump Wins Again

 

Incumbent Republican Senator Bill Cassidy lost his primary Saturday. He finished third with just 25% of the vote—a historic loss for an incumbent senator. But there was a reason he lost so badly. 

 

Representing the conservative, pro-life state of Louisiana, Cassidy voted with the Democrats to impeach President Trump. He’s a doctor by training and has also been reliably wrong on the need to reform our healthcare system. There will be a runoff on June 27th between two strong conservatives. 

 

This is bigger than “Don’t cross Trump,” although that’s a big part of it. The reason there is a President Trump is because Republican voters want fighters, and Cassidy is not a fighter.

 

There are other important primaries taking place tomorrow. Keep an eye on Rep. Thomas Massie in Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District and Brad Raffensperger in the GOP primary for governor of Georgia.

 

 

 

2020 Was Rigged

 

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said on Fox News yesterday that there is “a ton of evidence” that the 2020 election was rigged against President Trump. Blanche added that there are multiple criminal investigations underway. 

 

I know we’ve heard it before. But if the acting attorney general says there are investigations underway, I believe him. Depending on what happens, it could be politically earth-shattering.

 

 

 

Transforming America

 

Here’s something else earth-shattering from the Left. Kamala Harris, who is the leading candidate to be Democrat presidential nominee in 2028, recently told a left-wing organization what her agenda is. Harris said:

 

“Let’s invite ideas, for example, that are about Supreme Court reform, including the notion of expanding the court. Let’s invite a discussion about how do we push for statehood for Puerto Rico and [Washington] D.C.; how are we thinking about the Electoral College.” 

 

She’s not the only one talking about fundamentally transforming America. House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries is demanding “nationwide election reform” and “massive judicial reform.” So is New Jersey Senator Cory Booker

 

Ideas that were once considered extreme are coming from Democrats on a daily basis now. Such sweeping changes to our election and judicial systems will not save our constitutional Republic—but that’s not their goal. 

 

They want to abolish the Electoral College so a few big liberal states like California, Illinois and New York can elect left-wing presidents. They want to pack the Supreme Court with left-wing judicial activists so they can rewrite the Constitution. They want to make Washington, D.C., which voted 93% for Harris, a new state so it can send two more left-wing Democrats to the Senate. 

 

Listen to them and believe them when they say things like this. They are telling us exactly what they are going to do. 

 

Other conservatives leaders and I met with Senate Majority Leader John Thune last week. We made it clear that the conservative movement wants the GOP to pass the Save America Act to clean up the cheating in our elections. Thune hemmed and hawed, but it was clear he is not committed to passing the Save America Act. 

 

Mark this down: If we lose the House and the Senate this year and Democrats win the White House in 2028, they will end the filibuster and enact all of their extreme policies. 

 

Of course, it will be the end of the country. But it will also be the end of the GOP. Do you think any conservative voter will forgive the party for losing the country? By the way, it will be the end of the Wall Street Journal editorial board, which opposes the Save America Act.

 

 

 

James Robison, R.I.P.

 

Reverend James Robison passed away over the weekend at the age of 82. He was one of the giants of Christendom and was a personal friend of mine. God blessed him with a tremendous voice, and he preached powerful sermons throughout his 60 years of ministry. 

 

We will miss James, but we rejoice knowing he is at the throne hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
