Poll Position

The latest CNN poll finds Democrats are leading Republicans by three points—45% to 42%—in a generic match-up for control of Congress. That’s a better position for Republicans compared to CNN’s previous poll in March when Democrats were up by six points. 

Experts say a three-point lead usually translates into a 10 to 15 seat turnover. But the shrinking number of truly competitive seats and the redistricting wars complicate the picture. CNN’s data guru Harry Enten said yesterday that a three-point lead now might not be enough to flip control of the House.

While detailed policy arguments matter, I agree with Congressman Jim Jordan, who said that the best nationwide theme the GOP can run on is “They’re crazy. We’re not.” And President Trump’s remarks calling out Democrats on the transgender issue during his State of the Union address would make a great campaign ad.

UVA Betrays Jefferson

The University of Virginia (UVA) was founded in 1819 by Thomas Jefferson, who considered it one of his greatest achievements in life. So much so that he insisted it be listed on his gravestone along with just two other achievements—the Declaration of Independence and Virginia’s Statute of Religious Freedom, both of which Jefferson authored. 

Sadly, the institution Jefferson founded has been hijacked by left-wing extremists. The university has installed tampon dispensers in the men’s restrooms. Some people may think this is just a small, goofy issue. It’s not. It’s another example of the Left’s war on reality and their determination to force all of us to embrace their delusions and lies.

Thomas Jefferson was a giant on the scene at our nation’s founding. He is one of the men God blessed us with to build a nation founded on the belief that our liberty came from God, not government. 

But the cultural extremists who run the University of Virginia have drifted so far away from the Natural Law that Jefferson, in his own way, valued so deeply. He was much more comfortable with the Natural Law than with biblical concepts. UVA’s administrators have rejected the Natural Law. 

They didn’t have to do this. The fact that they did it in the year we celebrate Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence and our nation’s founding on the fundamental realities about the nature of man and the importance of virtue dishonors Jefferson and insults his legacy. 

They are sending a signal to their students that their university is run by cultural barbarians. They don’t have clubs and loincloths. But they are infected with the “woke mind virus” that permeates the Left and causes them to deny reality and common sense.

Men do not menstruate! Leftists who insist men do and can get pregnant are crazy and cannot be trusted with political power.

Lost In Loudoun

Common sense and common decency have been completely lost in Loudoun County, Virginia. Located in the greater Washington, D.C., metro area, Loudoun County has become Ground Zero in the transgender culture wars (here and here) ever since Democrats took control. Here’s the latest.

A transgender student has reportedly been taking videos of boys while they were using the bathrooms at one Loudoun County high school. This has been going on for three years, and there are at least 40 victims. Parents are just now finding out about it, and school officials and the media are doing everything they can to hide the facts.

When parents revolted in 2021 against the radicalism of the Loudoun County school system, we took it as a marker of the broader parental revolt that was taking place across the country. It really was a marker of what was happening to the state of Virginia. 

While the Trump administration is leaning heavily on Loudoun County and other Northern Virginia school districts to drop their pro-trans policies, Democrats have dug in and will not bend. 

And, of course, Gov. Abigail Spanberger will not do anything because she’s all in on the Left’s radical agenda. The Democrat attorney general is all in. So are the people that just tried to literally cancel the ability of half of the state’s voters to elect conservatives to Congress. And three out of seven state supreme court justices are all in.

They intend to take a Purple state and turn it into California. They want to make it a solidly Blue state, not only on socialist economics but also on their cultural extremism. That’s why Spanberger began her administration by doing everything she could to promote abortion and LGBTQ ideology. 

And, as always, the Left knows that it has to get the children. If they get control of the hearts and minds of our children, the battle is over. So, they are relentless in shoving their extremism down our throats and hiding its inevitable horrors.

It’s Not Trump

For those who think that all the discord and negativity we are experiencing in our political discourse is Trump-specific and will go away when he leaves office, think again. And then look at what Democrats are doing to former reality TV star and Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt.

I don’t think the word “populist” has ever crossed his lips. He rejects being called a “MAGA Republican.” But the reason he’s gotten some traction is that he speaks common sense. 

Pratt says Los Angeles has a crime problem and needs to put more criminals in jail. He says the city has a homelessness problem, but the root causes are drugs and mental illness, not necessarily a lack of housing. 

And how are Democrats reacting? They are calling him a “fascist.”

Donald Trump especially grates on the Left so much because he refuses to bend to their intimidation. But the Left’s hatred and vitriol are not specific to Trump. 

Now, it’s fascism to say criminals should be in jail. It’s fascism to say that simply giving homeless people homes is not a solution when they really need treatment for drugs and mental illness. 

By the way, Mayor Karen Bass is now running on a platform of giving the “unhoused” teeth. “Because meth rots your teeth. You can’t succeed without teeth,” Bass insists. “So there needs to be comprehensive healthcare provided to people.” 

You can’t make this up!

Silenced No More

In the immediate aftermath of the horrific October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas that killed 1,200 Israelis, it became clear that this was no “ordinary” attack. The sheer scale and utter depravity of the atrocities were beyond imagination. It was immediately understood that these atrocities must be documented. 

That’s why the independent Civil Commission on October 7th Crimes by Hamas Against Women and Children was established in Israel. And because of the lack of any meaningful response from feminist groups around the world. The “women’s movement” was too busy arguing in favor of men being able to invade women’s bathrooms. 

The Commission compiled more than 10,000 photographs and video segments. It took testimonies from more than 430 survivors, witnesses, hostages and family members. Its findings were released to the media yesterday. 

I can’t describe everything that occurred. The report is so unbelievably horrific. The Commission determined that “sexual violence was not incidental [to the Hamas attack], it was deliberate, coordinated, and embedded in the attack itself.” It was “systematic, widespread and integral” to Hamas’s terror.

The Islamists set fire to people’s groins. They shot victims in the eyes. They cut off heads and limbs. They mutilated the sexual organs of women while they were still alive. They made related children sexually abuse one another. 

One Israeli official said he found nails embedded in a woman’s “intimate areas.” In another home, he discovered “knives, scalpels, a hammer, an axe, screwdrivers, and tools” embedded in a “completely mutilated body.” 

These Hamas barbarians mutilated Israeli women in a way that can only be described as the work of Satan, who has been at war with the Jews since the meeting in the desert between Abraham and God. 

And we have people in the Democrat Party and in the media saying, “Donald Trump’s committing war crimes in Iran.” But actual war crimes and crimes against humanity continue to be swept under the rug when it’s done by radical Islamists and communists.

The animals who conducted this attack were the armed wing of the “Free Palestine” movement. That is not a noble movement. It is not an honorable cause. 

But that is the movement Zohran Mamdani fights for. It is the movement the Democrat Party increasingly fights for. It is the movement that students on our finest university campuses march for. 

It is evil, and it would do this to every Jew and every Christian it could if it only had the power to do so.
