Big Job Gains

The Trump economy is booming! At least 115,000 new jobs were created in April—twice what the so-called “experts” had predicted. In addition, job growth for March was revised upward to 185,000 new jobs. 

I’m beginning to think these “experts” are spending too much time with other “experts,” and all of them are infected with a virus that makes them think everything is getting worse because conservatives are in power. 

But there is a “downside” to today’s great economic news. Because the economy is strong and growing, it is less likely that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates.

Remember Sheridan

Just a couple of months ago, there were daily battles in the streets of Minneapolis. Federal immigration police were in the city arresting thousands of illegal aliens who should not be in our country. But Minneapolis’s Marxist revolutionaries and many of the city’s Democrat politicians demanded immigration police leave their sanctuary city.

Because of the irresponsibility of Minnesota Democrats and the left-wing demonstrators threatening the police, two people tragically ended up dying in these confrontations. The Democrat Party and the leftist media drove those two deaths into the nation’s consciousness 24 hours a day, week after week after week. 

We were told all about the backgrounds of Renee Good and Alex Pretti—at least the parts the media wanted us to know. We were told how “noble” they were for standing up for the “undocumented.” We were told they died because of Donald Trump. Elected Democrats screamed, “This shouldn’t be happening in America’s streets!”

In fact, what shouldn’t have been happening in America was Joe Biden’s “green light” to 20 million people to walk into our country. Many had criminal records. 

One of those criminal illegal aliens killed Sheridan Gorman, a beautiful, young Christian woman. He shot her in the head at close range as she was walking with her friends near Loyola University in the sanctuary city of Chicago. Not only was Gorman killed by someone who never should have been here, taxpayers were picking up the tab for his housing costs!

And the same media and the same Democrats want us to forget about Sheridan as quickly as possible. Sadly, most Americans have. Her death barely lasted through one news cycle. 

Choose My American Child

Sheridan’s parents and her sister were interviewed on Fox News recently. It was a deeply moving interview. Asked to respond to Democrat politicians who defend sanctuary city policies, Sheridan’s mother, Jessica, said:

“I don’t understand what these politicians are thinking. To me, things like that show that they value these undocumented migrants more than they value our American citizens, our American children. And honestly, you almost want to make a plea: Choose us. Choose my American child.” 

I can’t think of a more powerful way to put it. But if you’re watching most U.S. media, you will never see this interview.

So, Sheridan Gorman was not only killed because of the Left’s idiotic policies; they’re killing her again. They’re killing the memory of her. They’re throwing dirt on her grave so no one is reminded of her. She is an inconvenient corpse and an inconvenient truth. 

The first law President Trump signed in his second term was the Laken Riley Act. The bill was named after a Georgia nursing student who was murdered by a criminal illegal alien. It requires the Department of Homeland Security to detain illegal aliens who commit certain crimes so they are not free to do any more harm.

Today, Democrat candidates are denouncing the Laken Riley Act, and elected Democrats who voted for this commonsense law are now apologizing for supporting it.

By the way, the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) just put out a report denouncing the Trump administration’s “aggressive” enforcement of our immigration laws because they said it is separating families. The NAE claims that as Christians, we must never break up God’s institution of the family. 

I need a vomit bag. There are plenty of American families who are “separated” whenever a mother or father commits a crime.

Did it occur to anyone at the National Association of Evangelicals that by putting out a report in the name of Christ saying we can’t remove people who come into our country illegally because it might break up their families, they are damaging a president who has done more for religious liberty, parental rights and the sanctity of life than any administration in the history of the United States?

Thousands of Americans have been victimized by illegal aliens. Thousands of schools have been disrupted by the massive influx of illegal aliens who don’t speak English. Billions of our hard-earned tax dollars have been spent on healthcare for illegal aliens when many American citizens struggle with healthcare costs. 

But all the Democrat socialists and apparently the National Association of Evangelicals want you to think about is a “bad president” trying to kick good people out of the country. What a lie.

Wake up, America!

Redistricting Wars

Forty-eight hours ago, the mid-decade redistricting wars were looking like no party was securing a clear advantage. That analysis just changed dramatically hours ago.

Democrats were handed a devastating defeat by the Virginia Supreme Court today. The justices declared that Virginia Democrats violated the state constitution and legislative procedures when they drew a new 10-to-1 Democrat/Republican congressional map and rushed to put it on the ballot in a hastily called special referendum. 

The Democrats’ map was a monstrosity. It would have created five new Democrat congressional seats, all anchored in the liberal bastion of Fairfax County in northern Virginia. They stretched Fairfax’s hundreds of thousands of left-wing voters hundreds of miles into conservative central and southern Virginia. They spent $70 million to barely win the referendum. And now they have nothing to show for it.

In addition, Tennessee’s Republican legislature passed a new congressional map yesterday that will give the GOP one additional seat. (See next item.)

So, as things currently stand, Republicans are expected to pick up 14 seats and Democrats will pick up six, giving the GOP an eight-seat advantage. However, redistricting efforts are underway in Alabama, Louisiana and South Carolina that could give the GOP three more seats for a total of 11 new House seats.

Left-wing Theatrics

Most Americans don’t delve into details the way you do. I know you do because you’re reading this daily report! But what most Americans saw yesterday about the Tennessee redistricting effort was probably very disturbing to them. 

They saw hundreds of people demonstrating inside the state capitol building. They saw someone burning a Confederate flag. They saw a state legislator standing on her desk, holding up a bedsheet with “No Jim Crow” spray-painted on it. 

Any normal person watching this mayhem would likely say to themselves, “I don’t know what happened, but whatever it was, it must have been horrible. Legislators don’t riot in the capitol building for nothing!” 

As I watched the Democrats’ outrageous theatrics in Tennessee, I was trying to remember when the Republicans rioted in the Virginia legislature when Democrats rammed through a 10-to-1 redistricting plan. Oh, that’s right—they didn’t!

They went into the chamber like good little boys and girls. Maybe they raised their voices an octave in protest. And the Democrats basically responded, “Yeah, yeah, hurry it up so we can vote.”

We are living in an era where there are no points for being genteel. Republicans should have been standing on their desks! There should have been 5,000 people from Virginia’s conservative counties demonstrating outside the state legislature. 

Democrats rammed through a map that was intended to make it impossible for 90% of the state to ever elect a pro-life, pro-family, pro-parent congressman again. And nobody in the country realized anything important was going on because Virginia Republicans didn’t act like a party whose voters were being gored. Some of them probably went and had a nice lunch at their local country club afterward.

If our elected officials keep talking like it’s 1950 and the most important thing is to talk softly and observe decorum, we will lose stability. If the Left wins, we’re going to see political prisoners in the United States at a level we’ve never seen before. 

We’ve already had them—the pro-life demonstrators Joe Biden persecuted, people involved in a demonstration at the Capitol on January 6th and Peter Navarro. They wanted to make Donald Trump a political prisoner!

Yet, we’re still in a party where far too many people are thinking, “Well, that’s never going to happen here.” Never, never, never forget what the Deep State did to Donald Trump to try to steal the 2016, 2020 and 2024 elections. 

Farage Reforms England

Thousands of local elections were held across the United Kingdom yesterday. Counting will go on all day and into tomorrow. But based on what we already know, Britain’s two-party system appears to be over. 

Since World War I, politics in the United Kingdom have been divided between two parties that represented labor and capital. Nigel Farage’s populist Reform Party is winning many old Tory seats—the Conservative Party that killed itself by failing to act decisively. (Sound familiar?)

In fact, Reform swept the council races in the area where Kemi Badenoch, leader of the Conservative Party, is from. But Reform is also winning seats in areas once dominated by the Labour Party. 

Farage said the division in England today is not between labor and capital, but “increasingly it’s about whether you go to work or not.” 

Good News

• Congratulations to my good friend, Justice Clarence Thomas! This week, he became the second-longest serving Supreme Court justice in history. I will forever be proud that I formed and led the Citizens Committee to Confirm Clarence Thomas during his brutal confirmation battle.
• The Trump Justice Department is suing New Jersey for giving illegal aliens in-state tuition and thus discriminating against American citizens from other states.
• President Trump is following through on one of his key promises. He is relocating federal jobs out of Washington, D.C., and to the states where their work is most relevant.
• Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has launched an anti-fraud investigation into the activities of the Southern Poverty Law Center.
• Louisiana’s school choice program dramatically improved graduation rates.
