Trump’s Trip
As many Americans were heading to bed Friday night, President Trump walked out onto the White House lawn and took a few questions from reporters. Then, he boarded Marine One and took off for Andrews Air Force Base. Shortly after 11:00 PM, the president left the country for a major summit of Asian nations.
After a brief stop in Germany Saturday morning, Trump flew to Qatar, where he held a meeting with the emir. Later that night, he landed in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. He walked off of Air Force One full of energy, even dancing briefly with native Malaysian performers.
The whole purpose of his trip is to make America safer, to bring peace wherever he can, and to encourage investment in the United States.
In Malaysia, Trump signed a trade deal and a rare earth minerals deal, which is incredibly important for our national security. He also participated in a peace treaty signing ceremony between Cambodia and Thailand. He “brokered” that deal.
Then, he was off to his next stop on this whirlwind tour.
In Japan today, President Trump will meet with the new prime minister, Sanae Takaichi, a conservative Trump fan and the nation’s first female leader. There are reports that her government will buy an entire fleet of Ford trucks for use in infrastructure projects. It will be a huge order, creating jobs in America.
President Trump will then go to South Korea to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping later this week. The two leaders will discuss critical trade and national security issues. Trump also expressed a willingness to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, if it can be arranged.
In the past seventy-two hours, the United States taxpayer has already gotten more benefit from Donald Trump’s energy, commitment, brainpower, and courage than they got from Joe Biden in months, if not all four years!
Left-wing Lunacy
Meanwhile, back in Washington, D.C., Democrats are dealing with the critical issues the American people “really care about.” The critical issue is . . . drum roll . . . Trump’s remodeling of the White House East Wing.
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) threw down the gauntlet for his party this weekend. Swalwell threatened, “Don’t even think of seeking the Democratic nomination for president unless you pledge to take a wrecking ball to the Trump Ballroom on DAY ONE.”
So, Swalwell is demanding that the next Democrat president use taxpayer money to tear down a new White House ballroom that was built with private donations. In what world does that make any sense at all?
If Swalwell somehow became president, I have no doubt he would be on that ballroom floor dancing with his communist Chinese honeypot.
Future presidents, regardless of party, will quietly thank Trump for that ballroom. The largest room in the White House right now only holds 200 people. Events larger than that must be held outside in tents. Foreign dignitaries at these White House events are forced to use portable toilets. Not exactly the best look for the most powerful nation on earth.
With all the issues we’re facing today, is there one normal American in the country who is in the “fetal position” overwhelmed with anxiety because Donald Trump is building a ballroom? No!
I’m being a little unfair. Democrats also spent the weekend on a major public policy issue—doing everything they can to prevent the United States government from reopening.
The Schumer Shutdown
It’s Day 27 of the Schumer Shutdown, and the pain is rapidly spreading. Many people who didn’t notice the government was shut down soon will.
Just a reminder for your liberal friends and family members: No, Republicans do not control the entire government. They control the White House and the House of Representatives 219 to 214—just 5 votes out of 435.
It takes 60 votes to effectively control the Senate because it takes that many to stop extended debate. Republicans have only 53 votes. So far, only two or three Democrats are willing to vote for the House-passed funding bill to reopen the government, while the vast majority of Senate Democrats keep voting to shut it down.
Soon we will start seeing air traffic in America seriously seizing up. There are already signs it’s happening. Air traffic controllers are doing one of the most stressful jobs in the country, and, right now, they’re doing it without being paid. Expect more of them to call in “sick.”
Other federal employees aren’t happy either. The union representing the largest share of U.S. government workers called on Congress to pass a short-term “clean” funding bill to reopen the government. The union is embracing the GOP plan!
The people Democrats say they care about most—the poor, children, and minorities—will start losing food stamps as of November 1st. Democrats insist on hurting the American people, including the poor, because they think Donald Trump will be blamed.
Our brave men and women in uniform are not being paid either. Republicans put up a bill to pay the troops, but Democrats voted it down. A generous private donor put up $130 million to help pay the troops. But instead of saying, “Thank you,” Democrats are saying the gift is probably illegal.
Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) is pledging to do what he can to replace federal food stamp dollars with the budget surplus his economic policies produced. Democrat-dominated Maryland says it doesn’t have any money to help.
Out Of Touch
Both of Arizona’s Democrat senators expressed totally out-of-touch opinions this weekend about President Trump’s actions to keep deadly drugs out of our country. Sen. Ruben Gallego said that using the military to blow up cartel drug boats before they could deliver their poison to America was “murder.”
Sen. Mark Kelly appeared to threaten members of the military who are following the commander-in-chief’s orders. He warned they may be put on trial after Trump leaves office. Kelly said that Trump’s orders were putting “young service members at great legal jeopardy.” Great legal jeopardy from whom, senator?
Is Senator Kelly making a legal judgment that U.S. military personnel following an order to stop cartel members from bringing drugs into the country is a war crime? Or a violation of human rights? Sounds like he wants to be a Democrat Supreme Court nominee someday.
Senators Gallego and Kelly, call your office. President Trump’s decisive action to protect our citizens from deadly drugs is one of his most popular decisions—71% of voters support the U.S. destroying boats bringing drugs from South America into the country.
Notice the pattern? Democrats are also promising they will put our immigration police on trial once Trump is out of office.
For years, conservatives have been saying that Democrats are too soft when it comes to putting people in jail. Well, now we know they do support tough sentences—not for criminal thugs but for the courageous men and women who enforce the law.
Mamdani Plays The Victim
New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani came under heavy fire last week for seeking and accepting the endorsement of a radical, anti-American imam with ties to terrorism. Andrew Cuomo and others hit him hard.
Like many leftists, Mamdani immediately played the victim card, and it was a really weak card. He said, “I want to speak to the memory of my aunt, who stopped taking the subway after September 11 because she did not feel safe in her hijab.” At least his aunt, unlike 3,000 Americans, was still alive.
Vice President J.D. Vance responded for most Americans, saying, “According to Zohran the real victim of 9/11 was his auntie who got some (allegedly) bad looks.”
Now, some researchers are suggesting that Mamdani’s hijab story is another lie. They can’t find pictures of Mamdani’s aunt in a hijab, and she wasn’t even in New York City at the time. She was working with a relief organization in Africa.
Meanwhile, Mamdani’s veracity doesn’t seem to be much of an issue. He held a big rally yesterday at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens with Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. He is a first-class demagogue.
There is no doubt Mamdani will be a force to reckon with if he wins next week. Many people believe he will be the new face of the Democrat Party and a major liability. I’m not so sure about the liability part.
This is not Ronald Reagan’s America. And this is not your father’s Democrat Party—66% of Democrats have a favorable view of socialism. AOC and Mamdani are the future of the Democrat Party.
Mamdani’s left-wing populism can only be defeated by conservative populism. The traditional pre-Trump GOP economic platform will not be enough.
