Schumer Caves

Late yesterday, President Trump announced that he had enough of the Schumer/Democrat shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security. Trump said he was going to issue an executive order to pay our airport police using funds in other Homeland Security accounts. He blasted Democrats, declaring:

“The Radical Left Democrats . . . have made it very clear where they stand, and that is, ON THE SIDE OF CRIMINAL ILLEGAL ALIENS, AND NOT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. They are refusing to fund Immigration Enforcement unless the Republicans agree to their Open Border Policies, which will never, ever happen again.”

When that news hit Capitol Hill, Democrats started scrambling because Trump just took away their leverage—the pain Democrats were causing at airports nationwide. So, Chuck Schumer finally caved and agreed to a funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security. 

Not only did Democrats get none of the so-called “reforms” they were demanding, they also lost all of the concessions Republicans were willing to make. When asked about the Democrats’ “reforms,” Senate Republican Leader John Thune said, “That ship has sailed. They kissed that opportunity goodbye by failing to provide funding for those agencies.”

Most importantly, Democrats did not get their asinine demand for judicial warrants to detain illegal foreign nationals. That demand would bring deportations to a screeching halt because every single one of the 15 million illegal aliens in the country could not be deported unless an individual judge wrote an individual order for that illegal alien to be arrested. 

That has never been done in the history of our country because it is obviously impossible. But it exposes the Democrats’ real goal, which is to keep as many of their future voters in America as possible. 

Now, the bill does not fund our immigration police, and it does not fund the Border Patrol. (Thankfully, they got extra funding last year as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill.) But do you see what’s going on? 

They not only don’t want one illegal alien deported, but they also want to open the border again as quickly as they can. They will open the border if they win control of Congress this year and the White House later. 

It’s a flashing red light right there in front of us. The influx of Third World migration that will swamp America will have us wishing we were back in the days when only 15 million illegal aliens poured in! 

Another American Victim

You know about the murder of Sheridan Gorman, the young college freshman in the sanctuary city of Chicago. She was shot in the head by an illegal alien from Venezuela. 

Mayor Brandon Johnson held a press conference Wednesday to announce the city’s new anti-immigration police campaign. It hadn’t even been a week yet since Sheridan Gorman was murdered. Johnson couldn’t be more tone-deaf and hard-hearted!

At least this young woman has a grieving family who have made it clear they will not let their daughter be forgotten. But you probably haven’t heard of Richard Williams, an 83-year-old veteran of World War II.

Williams was waiting for the subway in Mayor Mamdani’s sanctuary city of New York when an illegal alien from Honduras pushed him onto the subway tracks, killing him. Williams’ murderer had been deported four times and has a long rap sheet with 15 criminal charges. Williams’ murder didn’t make even a blip in the news cycle. 

How many more Americans must be sacrificed on the altar of open borders? Where is the “sanctuary” for American citizens?

Trump Defends Faith

As you know, I have been blessed and pleased to be part of the discussions on America’s 250th anniversary through President Trump’s National Faith Advisory Board. This is one of the reasons it’s so important to support our work. It gives me the ability to be in the key meetings speaking for our values at important times. 

The Trump administration has asked millions of Americans to pray every month for our country, for its safety and future. You can do it in your own homes, you can invite neighbors together, or your church can also make praying for America a priority. On May 17, there will be a major prayer event all day on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. 

Well, guess what? The Trump administration is being sued by Americans United for the Separation of Church and State. They claim it’s unconstitutional for a president to call people to prayer.

That is exactly what our Founding Fathers did when they wrote the Constitution. That would be the same Constitution Americans United for the Separation of Church and State claims is being violated. How?

The men who wrote the Constitution didn’t think prayer was a problem. In fact, May 17th was selected for a national day of prayer because that’s exactly what our Founding Fathers asked the nation to do 250 years ago on that date. 

And as we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, President Trump believes it is a good idea to ask for God’s blessing and protection once again.

Hegseth Defends Faith

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth took a major step toward restoring sanity in the military this week. He eliminated more than 170 religious affiliation codes, some of which were for Wiccans, Druids, Paganists, and Humanists. 

The purpose of this nonsense wasn’t just “diversity.” It was to make the Chaplain Corps as complicated and inoperable as possible so they could ultimately get rid of all the chaplains and replace them with secular psychiatrists. But 82% of service members identify as religious, and they all fall within six of the religious affiliation codes. 

In making his announcement of this reform, Hegseth said:

“In previous administrations, our Chaplain Corps was infected by political correctness and secular humanism. The core functions . . . were watered down until many viewed them as nothing more than therapists. Faith and virtue were traded for self-help and self-care. . . 

“The crucible of combat tests more than the body. It tests conviction, character, and spirit. . . Chaplains help forge spiritual readiness across the force. And that matters because in combat, in crisis, and in loss, a war fighter needs more than a coping mechanism. They need truth, big T truth. They need conviction. They need a shepherd.”

This is what happens when you have conservative Christians governing. Compare that to what goes on when secular globalist Democrats are in control. They try to silence chaplains. They take Bibles out of veterans’ facilities. They target Catholics. They spy on parents. They put justices on the Supreme Court who don’t know what a woman is. The list is endless.

More Deep State Corruption

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard dropped a bombshell report yesterday about Deep State corruption and political meddling. Of course, the media blacked out the news. 

U.S. intelligence agencies intercepted messages in 2022 from officials within the Ukrainian government discussing USAID funding for a green energy project in Ukraine. Except it wasn’t really a green energy project. It was a money laundering scheme intended to divert 90% of the funds to Joe Biden’s 2024 reelection campaign.

Unlike the Russia collusion hoax, this intelligence wasn’t made up by political hacks in the United States. Given the obvious criminal activity and real foreign meddling in our elections, you’d think someone in the intelligence community would have investigate these messages a bit more.  You’d think so, but they didn’t. So, Gabbard is now demanding more information from USAID to see if this scheme was actually put into effect.

It’s interesting how this works. Don’t forget, we didn’t like an election result in Ukraine, so the CIA and other agencies interfered in Ukraine and stoked a revolution to throw out the government and destabilize the country, leading eventually to the Zelensky government. And then Ukraine returns the favor by trying to interfere in our elections to make sure that they have somebody who will do what they want America to do in Ukraine.

Context Matters

Every time you hear the word “Iran” in any Big Media report, you often hear the words “Iraq” and “Afghanistan.” It’s a constant drumbeat to convince Americans that President Trump is getting us into another no-win war that will go on for years. So, here’s a little context for you.

• The war in Iraq lasted nearly 9 years. Roughly 4,500 U.S. troops were killed and 32,000 were wounded.
• The war in Afghanistan lasted 20 years. Approximately 2,400 U.S. troops were killed and 21,000 were wounded.
• The military conflict with Iran is just 27 days old. Fourteen U.S. troops have been killed. More than 300 have been wounded. Thankfully, the vast majority were minor wounds as 273 troops have already returned to duty. 

The narrative that we’re in another “no-win war” is insane. It is propaganda meant to sap the will of the American people. Tehran, Beijing or Moscow couldn’t have written it better. 

We have an incredible all-volunteer military. Nobody is being drafted. Yet, we’re in a panic because we’ve been fighting for 27 days? If this is a reflection of where the public is, don't worry about your child not speaking English correctly. Get him to learn Mandarin now.

• President Trump’s immigration policies have won big legal victories recently. Two federal appeals courts upheld the administration’s authority to detain illegal aliens without bond hearings.
• The city of Louisville, Kentucky, is paying at least $800,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by a Christian photographer against the city’s “nondiscrimination” ordinance that would have forced her to participate in same-sex weddings.
• Pennsylvania Democrats were forced to pull a resolution honoring Women’s History Month after Republicans proposed an amendment adding the biological definition of women to the resolution. Democrats were scared of voting on what a woman is.
• Planned Parenthood of Illinois was forced to pay $500,000 to settle a lawsuit for discriminating against white employees.
• The International Olympic Committee has finally decided that women’s sports are for women—not men pretending to be women.
