Wannabe Bomber Busted But Bigger Battle Remains
You never want to see a story like this. Jessica Bowie was arrested Wednesday by the FBI for plotting to bomb the New York State Capitol Building. She is a relatively recent convert to Islam and praised Allah for the 9/11 attacks. But I think it’s fair to say she wasn’t the brightest bulb in the box.
She was spotted multiple times walking around the capitol building taking photographs while wearing a full burka. She went to Home Depot and bought nails to be used as shrapnel in her bomb—while wearing her burka. She told undercover FBI agents that she wanted to bomb Times Square on New Year’s Eve and the White House, too.
While Bowie herself was never a serious threat to anyone, she is another symptom of the dangerous radicalization that is taking place throughout the West. It’s a radicalization driven by hatred for Judeo-Christian civilization and hatred of Christians and Jews.
What’s more dangerous to the future of our Republic? This demented but inept ISIS supporter? Or the fact that the two major financial centers of the Western world—London and New York—have radical Muslim mayors?
(Speaking of London, the British government is now producing nine-page pamphlets telling newly arrived migrants that women have a right to be educated and make their own decisions and that it is not okay to rape women and children. Ain’t diversity grand?)
Every year, the Islamic call to prayer is heard five times a day in more and more cities and towns across America. The Islamist, anti-American social media influencer Hasan Piker has 3 million followers, and the Democrat Party is his number one fanboy. Democrat candidates and politicians crawl over themselves trying to score an appearance with Piker.
Rep. Ro Khanna, who wants to run for president in 2028, just said that the Democrat Party condemning Piker would be “showing weakness.” No, it would be a sign of sanity and a rejection of hatred. But they can’t do it.
Is Jessica Bowie more dangerous than Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed? I don’t think so.
She made a pathetic attempt to blow up a government building. El-Sayed got more than 740,000 votes for his radical Marxist/Islamist platform. Democrat socialists and their Islamist allies are making a deadly serious effort to blow up our constitutional republic by getting elected to public office.
The wannabe bomber hated America so much that she wanted to commit violence. The Marxists and Islamists hate America so much that they regularly tear down statues of our heroes and engage in other forms of violence. She wanted to blow up the New York Senate. The Democrat socialists want to abolish the United States Senate.
It’s good that law enforcement stopped Jessica Bowie. But the jury is still out on whether we’re going to defeat the growing Marxist/Muslim threat to America.
Contrasting Converts
Whenever a Muslim extremist is arrested in Europe or the United States, it’s not uncommon to hear their neighbors say, “He was always so quiet and polite. But then a couple of years ago, he converted to Islam and became very aggressive and confrontational.”
Now, I want to avoid broad generalizations, but when someone converts to Christianity, it’s usually the exact opposite. Neighbors might say, “He used to be a real jerk, but after he got baptized and started going to church, he’s a completely different person.”
So, after embracing Jesus Christ, people usually become better, more loving individuals. But all too often in the dark corners of Western Civilization, when someone converts to Islam and embraces Allah, they want to kill somebody.
Now let me state the obvious: There are Muslims who are very nice people. But Islam is a faith that has spread through war, and Islam does not make for a great country. I feel comfortable saying that because there are 53 Muslim-majority countries in the world, and none of them are bastions of liberty.
Silencing Sanity In Seattle
We have won the public opinion battle over the demands of the transgender movement—for now. Most people don’t want men in women’s sports. They’re against mutilating a young child suffering from gender confusion.
They are reluctant or refuse to call a man “she.” They think it is absurd to put tampons in high school boys’ bathrooms. They don’t want public schools introducing their little sons and daughters to this radical ideology.
But trans ideology still controls America’s elites. The Democrat Party will not abandon it. The teachers’ unions will not abandon it. The media will not abandon it. And these powerful interest groups will attempt to destroy and silence anyone who dares to say what most Americans believe.
The latest example is Matt Calkins, a sports columnist for the Seattle Times.
He wrote a column arguing that two things can be true at the same time: you can feel compassion for those who feel “trapped in the wrong body,” and, at the same time, you can believe that women should not have to compete against men for obvious reasons.
That was the point of Calkins’s column, but the Seattle Times refused to publish it.
And because the paper could not give him a legitimate reason why his column was spiked, Calkins quit on the spot.
That took a lot of courage in Seattle. He will probably have to move to find another job.
Swalwell’s Special Week
Because of Tuesday’s shocking socialist upset in Florida’s Democrat Senate primary, the special election to fill the remainder of disgraced former Rep. Eric Swalwell’s (D-CA) term did not get much attention.
Far-left State Sen. Aisha Wahab defeated Melissa Hernandez. Wahab will be the first female Afghan American to be elected to Congress. She’s also a flaming anti-Israel antisemite. Millions of dollars were spent to defeat her, but she won 53% to 47%.
By the way, Eric Swalwell isn’t having a good week. He was stopped by FBI agents at the San Francisco airport Saturday. His cell phone and a laptop were seized. The next day, federal agents raided his Washington, D.C., home. All of this is part of an ongoing investigation into the rape and sexual assault allegations that torpedoed his campaign for governor of California.
But that’s not all!
The White House Government Transparency Task Force released declassified FBI records regarding the investigation into Swalwell’s relationship with Communist Chinese spy Fang Fang.
The records confirm what we all knew—that he slept with this Chinese spy multiple times despite his multiple public denials. She also solicited illegal campaign donations on his behalf and placed interns (more spies?) in his congressional office.

- Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent issued new regulations preventing illegal aliens from collecting refunds for tax credits they are not eligible to receive. Democrats enabled this theft for years.
- Secretary Linda McMahon has dismantled approximately 50% of the Department of Education.
- The Trump Justice Department will deploy 1,000 poll monitors across the country this November to prevent cheating at the ballot box.
- The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a Texas election integrity law that prevents fraud with mail-in ballots.
