Trump Remembers 9/11

For the past few months, a 21-foot steel beam from the World Trade Center has traveled across the country. It has stopped at various events to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, serving as a “bridge between generations.”

In May, the steel beam traveled from New York City down to Miami, Florida. Then, the beam traveled through the South. It moved up the West Coast from San Diego to Seattle before heading back east. Today, the beam was in Washington, D.C., on the Ellipse across from the White House.

President Trump spoke at this special event, honoring the victims and first responders who were murdered by radical Islamists on September 11, 2001. The president said that the steel beam “is a reminder that America is blessed with a strength no fire can consume, no evil can conquer and no terror can destroy.” 

During his remarks, President Trump presented the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, to the family of Welles Crowther, “the man in the red bandana.” 

The 24-year-old equities trader and volunteer firefighter rescued a group of people on the 78th floor of the South Tower. He made multiple trips, covering his nose and mouth with a red bandana, saving as many people as he could before he lost his own life when the building collapsed.

Mamdani Mocks 9/11 Victims

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani signed two executive orders at a formal ceremony last week. One order designated Friday, September 11, 2026, as a Day of Remembrance and Service in recognition of the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

When Mamdani finished signing the order, he handed the ceremonial pen to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch. Elected officials often give the pens they use to sign important documents to others as a way of honoring their work on a particular issue. President Trump presented me with a pen he used to sign an executive order on religious liberty.

But Mamdani wasn’t giving the pen to the police commissioner. He asked Tisch to pass the pen to Ramzi Kassem, who was standing next to her. Who is Ramzi Kassem, and why would Mamdani want him to have this pen?

Kassem is the mayor’s chief legal counsel. The official reason for handing the pen to Kassem is because his office reportedly helped to draft the executive orders that Mamdani signed. But no one is buying that explanation.

In 2009, Ramzi Kassem represented Ahmed Al-Darbi, an Al Qaeda terrorist who was once held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Al-Darbi is the brother-in-law of Khalid al-Mihdhar, one of the Al Qaeda hijackers who crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon. 

Kassem also represented Mahmoud Khalil, the radical Islamist on a foreign student visa who led pro-Hamas demonstrations at Columbia University. 

Of course, Mamdani has to publicly condemn radical Islamic terrorism and antisemitism. But he did not have to hire an Al Qaeda lawyer to be the chief legal counsel for New York City. That move—and handing Kassem the pen used to sign the 9/11 executive order—was a “wink and a nod” to Mamdani’s Islamist fan base.

By the way, Mayor Mamdani still plans to attend the 25th anniversary of 9/11 memorial in New York City this week. This is in spite of vehement objections from 9/11 families and more than 100,000 signatures on a petition requesting that he stay away.

Last year, Mamdani told the New York Times that 9/11 was a difficult day for New York City Muslims, too. How’s that exactly? He claims it was the day that Islamophobia became “a fact of life,” the day “many New Yorkers . . . were marked [as] an ‘other.’”

Mayor Mamdani is in no position to lecture us about “Islamophobia.” Hate crimes in New York City are surging under his watch. More than half of them—54%—were committed against Jews, while 6% of hate crimes targeted Muslims.

Left-wing Hate

What do three Democrat primaries in Florida and New Hampshire and the mayoral race in Providence, Rhode Island, all have in common? Antisemitism is a major issue in every race.

Providence Mayor Brett Smiley converted to Judaism two years ago, while he was in office. Now, he’s being challenged in the Democrat primary by a Bernie Sanders-endorsed socialist, who has made opposition to Israel a key part of his campaign.

In the New Hampshire Democrat Senate primary, Rep. Chris Pappas is facing a stronger than expected challenge from a far-left socialist who accuses Israel of “genocide.”

In the race for New Hampshire’s open First Congressional District, Democrat Stefany Shaheen, daughter of Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), is attacking the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) as much as her primary opponent.

Florida Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) survived his primary against an anti-Israel socialist. But he says supporters of Israel in the Democrat Party are being “ostracized,” and he worries there may not be any pro-Israel Democrats left in Congress five years from now.

There is no doubt what’s going on here. The Democrat Party is signaling that it will throw Jews to the leftist mob if that’s what it takes for the Left to get power.

Leave Our Kids Alone!

In the past 18 months, the Supreme Court has ruled twice that parents have a fundamental right to direct the upbringing of their children that education bureaucrats must respect. But leftist insurrectionists in charge of New Jersey’s Chatham School District think they can ignore the Supreme Court.

The Chatham School District is being sued for allowing students to change their gender and pronouns at school without their parents’ knowledge. The school district is also threatening to suspend students if they refuse to lie about another student’s biological gender.

Ann Ciccarelli, president of the Chatham School District Board of Education, claims New Jersey schools are not bound by the Supreme Court’s recent decisions on parental rights. Why not? Because those decisions arose from cases in Maryland and California.

The Left celebrates every time a lone federal judge unilaterally prevents President Trump from acting anywhere in the country with a nationwide injunction. But when it’s a Supreme Court decision the Left doesn’t like, they claim it applies only to the specific parties in that case.

This is another example of the leftist educational establishment belief that our children belong to them. They are doubling down, even with President Trump in the White House. Just imagine how they will act if Democrats get back in power!
