Friday, May 16, 2025 -- The Trump Doctrine, Comey's Threat, Thank You

The Trump Doctrine

The legacy of President George W. Bush will forever be defined by the 9/11 attacks and the dramatic shift in American foreign policy that followed. In his second inaugural address, Bush outlined the nation-building crusade that America was pursuing.

It sounded good at the time. Many still think we should be liberating nations from leaders we don’t like and turning those nations into democracies. But that policy, built on the premise that every nation is yearning for free elections and democracy, has been a colossal failure.

  • Free elections in Gaza led to the terrorists of Hamas winning the election.
  • Free elections in the West Bank led to Mahmoud Abbas suspending elections. He’s now in the 21st year of his first four-year term.
  • Free elections in Egypt led to the radical Islamist Muslim Brotherhood seizing power.
  • Free elections in Iraq resulted in a government aligned with Iran.

Thousands of our sons and daughters were killed and maimed in wars we were never allowed to win. Tremendous treasure was expended and is a big reason why our nation is flirting with a debt crisis.

American Christians have always been a source of great patriotism and love of country. Many Christians embraced the idea that America’s power should be used for “nation-building.”

It is heartbreaking that the instability in the Middle East created by that policy resulted in a genocide of our brothers and sisters in Christ across the Middle East.

Donald Trump criticized all of this in a major speech he delivered this week in Saudi Arabia. Sadly, it’s been largely ignored by our fake news media.

Trump declared that the hubris of nation-building is over. He said the United States will be strong, and we will work with any nation that is willing to work with us to build a peaceful, prosperous, and stable world.

Author, analyst, and philosopher John Zmirak asserts that Trump’s America First foreign policy is more consistent with the Christian faith than the nation-building foreign policy that brought nothing but death and destruction. He may very well be right.

Comey’s Threat

Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey, a rabid Trump hater, is back in the news. Yesterday, he posted an image of shells with the caption, “Cool shell formation on my beach walk.” The shells were arranged to make the numbers “86 47.”

President Trump is routinely called “47” because he is the 47th president of the United States. The number 86 is used by far-left “resistance” groups like Antifa and radical nihilists to mean “kill” or “eliminate.”

So, the message of Comey’s shells was “Kill President Trump.”

Comey quickly deleted the image from his social media accounts, claiming he had no idea that some people interpreted 86 as “kill.” He obviously knew what 47 meant. So, what exactly did he think 86 meant? And why did he think these shells were so “cool” that he just had to share them with his leftist social media followers?

I believe he knew exactly what those numbers meant, and that’s why he found them so “cool.”

Just think about that for a moment. A man who was once one of the highest-ranking intelligence and law enforcement officials in the country just circulated a call for the assassination of the president of the United States!

Comey posted this not-so-subtle threat just a few days after Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard fired two of Comey’s Deep State allies who have been working for years to undermine Donald Trump. Gabbard said Comey should be held accountable for “issuing a hit on President Trump.”

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed he has contacted the Secret Service about Comey’s implied threat. So, two important intelligence agencies understood exactly what the former FBI director’s post was insinuating.

And don’t forget that Comey’s obscene message is aimed at a president who has already survived two assassination attempts.

We must continue to pray for the president’s safety. There are powerful people in and out of our government who are enemies of the United States and enemies of the president. That cannot be tolerated!

Big Bad Bust?

While Speaker Mike Johnson continues to express optimism that President Trump’s “big beautiful bill” can pass, there are disturbing signs it could become a big bad bust. It just failed to pass the House Budget Committee.

Several House conservatives are upset that it doesn’t cut spending even more. Several RINOs (Republican In Name Only) are pushing from the other direction, claiming it cuts too much.

Further complicating matters is the fact that several Republican senators have indicated that the current House bill is dead on arrival in the Senate for the exact same reasons. Some GOP senators say it doesn’t go far enough, and others say it goes too far.

We need to be very clear about this. If the reconciliation bill does not pass and is not signed into law, the entire MAGA movement will have been killed by our own hands. It’s as simple as that.

If Republicans don’t get this done, we lose the House next year and could very well lose the Senate, effectively ending Donald Trump’s presidency.

Stay tuned.

Making America Safe

Border Czar Tom Homan and our federal immigration enforcement officers have been very busy lately. And we should all be grateful.

Over the past month, enforcement operations in Houston, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Washington, D.C., have resulted in the arrests of more than 1,000 illegal aliens. Many were hardened criminals convicted of aggravated assault, driving under the influence, drug possession, robbery, rape, sexual assaults against children, manslaughter, and homicide.

Donald Trump is kicking these criminals out of our country. Democrats are demanding that these criminals stay in our country, knowing full well they will continue preying on our communities.

By the way, since President Trump has taken the shackles off of our immigration enforcement agents and is backing them 100%, the U.S. Border Patrol is experiencing a record surge in recruitment.

“The Greatest Pain”

Actor Kelsey Grammer, the star of “Frazier,” just released a memoir dedicated to his sister titled “Karen: A Brother Remembers.” Grammer’s sister was brutally raped and murdered when he was 20 years old.

In addition to the pain of losing his sister, Grammer explores other tragedies in his life, including the tragedy of abortion. He recounts the suffering he and his then-wife experienced when they aborted one twin to save the other, saying it was “the greatest pain I have ever known,” adding, “the abortion of my son eats away at my soul.”

Grammer’s gut-wrenching honesty is further evidence that it’s not just women who are traumatized and regretful, but the fathers of aborted children often experience the same pain and anguish.

Thank You!

May is Military Appreciation Month, and tomorrow is Armed Forces Day. So, this is a good time to thank the men and women who sacrifice so much to keep us safe.

While we look forward to an evening out with our spouse or tucking our children in bed at night, our men and women in uniform -- husbands and wives, sons and daughters, fathers and mothers -- endure long deployments away from their loved ones.

While we enjoy the luxuries of modern life, our troops make the best of every situation they are in, wherever they are, no matter how difficult the circumstances or conditions.

And while we far too often take our rights for granted, every man and woman in the military is prepared to risk their lives for our freedom and our rights.

If you know someone currently serving our country in uniform, please take a moment to thank them. Let them know their sacrifice and service are deeply appreciated. And if you know a military spouse, be certain to thank them, too. They may not be in uniform, but they are also serving in essential ways.

To all those who stand guard defending our freedom, a grateful nation thanks you!
