Clinton Lawyer Walks Free

 

Hillary Clinton’s campaign lawyer, Michael Sussmann, is a free man today.  A Washington, D.C., jury found him not guilty on the charge of making false statements to the FBI.  I’m not at all surprised.

 

Sussmann was the most high-profile defendant charged so far in Special Counsel John Durham’s on-going investigation of the Deep State’s attempted coup against President Donald Trump.

 

Sadly, today’s verdict was not unexpected, and it will only fuel the growing frustration with the apparent “two systems of justice” that seems to prevail in America – one for liberals and one for the rest of us. 

 

The Obama-appointed judge in this case issued numerous rulings that seemed biased against the prosecution.  And, as constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley noted, the Washington, D.C. jury was most certainly biased against Durham.  Turley recently observed:

 

“Besides limiting the scope of evidence involving Clinton, the judge allowed three Clinton donors to sit as jurors, along with another juror who is a supporter and donor to liberal firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.  For special prosecutor John Durham, it must seem like the only juror missing is Chelsea Clinton.” 

 

Incredibly, it has also been reported that another juror “was on the same high school sports team as Sussmann's child.”  But that’s the problem with holding trials like this in Washington, D.C., a city dominated by Democrats.

 

That said, it’s important to keep in mind that the Durham investigation has already uncovered tremendous “seditious activity,” as former Attorney General Bill Barr put it.

 

Durham has at least one more trial in the works – that of Igor Danchenko, a key source of Christopher Steele’s infamous dossier.  I am pleased to report that trial is being held in Virginia.

 

 

 

The “Do Something” Dilemma

 

Since the horrible attack at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, one week ago, there has been a common refrain echoed everywhere.  It’s a vague call “to do something.”  But as the saying goes, the devil is in the details.  It is vitally important that we know and understand what that “something” is.

 

The United States government is essentially under the control of Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.  They run America.  Is there anyone who does not fully understand that they would like to ban private gun ownership in America?  Their socialist counterparts in Canada are taking a major leap in that direction.

 

Ironically, every policy the left pushes actually increases gun sales in America. 

 

The “social justice” riots of 2020 resulted in deaths, arsons and massive property damage.  During it all, left-wing city governments told their police departments to stand down.  Often the mayhem intentionally spread to suburban neighborhoods.  Normal Americans saw all this and they went out and bought firearms.

 

Every day we see images on our TV screens of the raging crime wave sweeping our country, fueled by the revolving door of arrested and released criminals.  This weekend alone, 13 people were killed in Philadelphia.  In Chicago, 52 people were shot, ten killed. 

 

Every time Americans see those images, they’re more likely to buy a firearm to protect their families, their homes and their businesses.

 

Our southern border is a total joke.  It is a daily reminder to everyone that we’re led by people who refuse to protect us and our sovereignty.  Those images at the border cause prudent Americans to buy firearms. 

 

If government bureaucrats really feel it is not a good thing for citizens to own firearms, they should be dedicated to proving to those citizens that they are capable of fulfilling the number one responsibility of government – keeping us safe. 

 

They should be tough on looters and rioters. They should keep felons in jail.  They should secure our borders to keep gangs, drugs and criminal aliens out.  But they don’t do any of those things.

 

Don’t be confused about this.  They have even worse policies heading our way. 

 

We’ve seen their disdain for the freedom of religion.  We’ve seen how they are willing to jettison freedom of speech.  We’ve seen how eager they are, including the president himself, to accuse us being of “white supremacists” and “domestic terrorists.”  We saw how quick they were to smash our liberties under COVID. 

 

The only thing standing in their way to rule you rather than to govern you is the Second Amendment.  The Second Amendment is the only reason we still have freedom of religion, freedom of speech and other freedoms you cherish.

 

So, we must be extremely careful about telling this gang, “We have to do something.”

 

 

 

NRA Under Fire

 

The National Rifle Association (NRA) had a long-standing commitment to hold its annual convention in Texas.  It takes years to plan and schedule these events.  Predictably, the NRA immediately came under pressure to cancel its convention in Houston, Texas, this year. 

 

The NRA had nothing to do with the tragedy in Uvalde.  The NRA is an organization of law-abiding Americans committed to preserving the right that our Founders put in the Constitution.  There has never been an NRA member arrested and charged with a mass shooting.

 

The people shooting up our cities every weekend are not NRA members.  If the left shut down the NRA and stopped you and me from owning a firearm, the people gunning down innocent bystanders in Chicago and Philadelphia would still have their guns.  Someone willing to kill over drugs doesn’t care what the gun laws say. 

 

Is that really so hard to understand?

 

 

 

The Shocking Tragedy Of Abortion

 

Sadly, as we all know, 19 children were murdered last Tuesday.  On that same day and every day since then, there are roughly 1,700 abortions every day in the United States. 

 

According to CDC statistics, which even the media admit are grossly underreported, there were 630,000 abortions in 2019.  That’s the equivalent of 90 Uvalde massacres every day.

 

The people who are the most aggressive in exploiting the Uvalde tragedy to take away one of your constitutional rights are also the same people who will fight to the death to continue the slaughter of 1,700 innocent children every day through abortion on demand.

 

 

 

Children At Risk

 

For many years, conservative activists have warned that the radical left is using our public school system, which your tax dollars pay for, to indoctrinate rather than educate.  Here’s the latest example.

 

A North Carolina preschool is using flashcards to teach children about the different colors.  So far, so good.  But one of the flashcards features a “pregnant man.” 

 

Why would anyone think it is okay to introduce preschoolers to the idea that “men” can get pregnant?  What on earth does that have to do with colors?

 

I know there are many good people who are teachers.  It is a noble profession.  But there is no doubt that a significant percentage of the educational bureaucracy is pushing an agenda that is completely contrary to the values of most Americans.

 

The teacher in this North Carolina preschool was using these cards knowing full well the controversies that exist today over this radical agenda. 

 

Any teacher who would do that should never teach again.  It is a violation of trust, and it is all about pushing a radical agenda on young children.

 

Polling on this issue is clear.  Voters overwhelmingly believe that children in the public schools should not be subjected to radical gender theory.  And they reject the absurd ideas that biological boys should be allowed to participate in girls’ sports and that schools should be allowed to “transition” children without their parents’ knowledge.

 

These are not difficult or “divisive” issues.  Conservatives are not “waging a culture war” by insisting that we respect normalcy, basic biology and parental rights. 

 

Conservatives didn’t start the culture war.  The radical left did.  But we must insist that any politician who seeks our votes be willing to aggressively defend our values and protect our children from the radical left.
