WASHINGTON, D.C. – Former presidential candidate Gary L. Bauer on Wednesday called the federal court ruling banning the Pledge of Allegiance “the best evidence available this week on the need for judges with common sense and sound legal minds, able to steer clear of the kind of judicial activism that denigrates America by making it illegal to stand proud as Americans, embracing our traditions.”
The chairman of Campaign for Working Families said that the need for Judge John Roberts' confirmation was even clearer following the ruling by the U.S. District Court Judge Lawrence Karlton, a Carter appointee, earlier today.
He made the following statement: “It is more obvious today than ever before that the U.S. Senate must confirm judges with a respect for America’s traditions and laws and must expedite the confirmations of judges who are in line with the founders’ views.” |
