Former presidential candidate Gary L. Bauer expressed deep sadness about the passing of Terri Schiavo and called her “an inspiration to all those who knew her or learned of her story.”
The chairman of Campaign for Working Families made the following statement following Mrs. Schiavo’s death Thursday morning: “Terri’s heroic life and unjust death must inspire us to redouble our efforts to protect those with disabilities. Our society failed to protect Terri’s most basic human right, the right to life. Because of an out of control state judiciary and an unfeeling husband, Terri died a cruel and unjust death, unfit for even our worst serial killers. This is a sad day for all people who stand for life.
“If any good can come of her passing it is this: the recognition of the importance of electing legislators determined to stand up for our most innocent and vulnerable citizens. We need law makers who will appoint judges determined to err on the side of life.”
Mr. Bauer concluded, “My sincerest sympathies and heartfelt prayers are with Terri and her family." |
