Government Shutdown

The federal government is officially shut down in Washington today. The culprit responsible for this outrage is not congressional conservatives but a small winter storm that is expected to drop a whole five inches of snow on the metro area. Obama is in South Africa for the Mandela funeral. Negotiations, in spite of the weather, are continuing on Capitol Hill for some...

The Obamacaid Time Bomb

You might have noticed that the liberal media are peddling a new Obamacare narrative: the Obamacare website, healthcare.gov, is up and working and getting better every day. But the real problem with Obamacare is not that the website didn’t work but rather that the program to which the...

Nelson Mandela, RIP

Nelson Mandela, who passed away yesterday at the age of 95, was an extraordinary man. He led the fight against the odious system of apartheid in South Africa, spent 27 years in prison and emerged from that ordeal to become the first black leader of his country.

Fortunately for South Africa, during his prison years Mandela ended his flirtation with Marxism and chose upon his release to be a voice for reconciliation, not revenge. Sadly, however, he retained...

Barack Bows To Beijing

When China recently attempted to assert control over the Senkaku Islands, claimed by Japan, by arbitrarily extending an air defense zone over the islands, America's initial response was the correct one: We sent two B-52s flying through the air space.

But today Foreign Policy reports that signals from leading officials at the White House and the Pentagon indicate that Obama is once again backing down.

Vice President Joe Biden and...

"We Are Less Safe"

There was a very disturbing discussion on CNN's Sunday talk show "State of the Union." The guests were Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Representative Mike Rogers (R-MI), the respective chairmen of the Senate and House Intelligence Committees. The topic was terrorism, and I suspect most folks (including those in the media) simply tuned it out during the holiday weekend. But what Feinstein and Rogers had to say was alarming....

Attack Corruption Now!

Looking ahead to the 2014 elections, a lot of pundits on the right, including some good conservatives, are suggesting that because Obama is imploding and because of the disastrous Obamacare rollout, all Republicans need to do is just sit back, let things play out and reap the benefits on Election Day.

There is a certain degree of prudence in that strategy, particularly as the damage caused by Obamacare becomes more apparent. But it would be a terrible...

A Thanksgiving Miracle

We are getting reports from all over the country of a possible Thanksgiving miracle. Truly, something appears to have happened once believed to be impossible.

On farms in Iowa and in gritty working class neighborhoods in Pittsburg, from sunny L.A. to windy Chicago, we have seen reports that at Thanksgiving meals across the nation, lost sheep came home. As families gazed in wonder in home after home, former "Obamabots" renounced their...

To Give Thanks

Citing Jay Leno may seem like an odd way to start off a message about Thanksgiving. The late night talk show host recently walked out of his studio and conducted a "Thanksgiving Trivia Challenge" with random folks on the street.

Leno asked simple questions like, "Where did the Pilgrims land?" "When was the first Thanksgiving celebrated?...

"Worst Deal Since Munich"

With the subtly of a sledgehammer, columnist Charles Krauthammer blasted Barack Obama's deal with Tehran, labeling it "the worst deal since Munich." Here are some excerpts of his remarks last night on Fox News:

"Half a dozen times, the Security Council has passed resolutions which said Iran has to stop all enrichment otherwise there will be no change in sanctions, no relief. Which means...

Obama Cuts A Deal With Tehran

Speaking at the White House late Saturday night, Barack Obama announced that a deal had been reached with Iran. The agreement, according to the president, "cut off Iran's most likely path to a bomb." Few seem to share the president's enthusiasm. Only two countries praised this deal -- Iran itself and its client state Syria.

The news of this agreement was greeted with dismay in Jerusalem, Riyadh and the capitals of other Middle...
