Defending Life

Today marks the 41st annual March for Life, which coincides with the tragic anniversary of the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision. That ruling has resulted in, by one count, more than 56 million abortions in America. That's 56 million innocent babies destroyed in the womb; 56 million lives never lived, their contributions to society lost forever.

As they do every year, tens of thousands of Americans braved the brutal Washington winter...

Obama Plays Race Card Again

Barack Obama's approval ratings have been in the tank lately. Gallup's tracking poll has his rating at 40%. For most of the past week, he had been below that crucial threshold. And what does Obama blame for his falling numbers? Racism, of course.

During a recent interview with the New Yorker, Obama says, "There's no doubt that there's some folks who just really dislike me because they don't like the idea of a...

Obama's Harvest

Barack Obama took office promising to fundamentally transform America. While his domestic agenda has gotten most of the attention, Obama has done tremendous damage to America's foreign policy as well. For example:

  • During a speech at the Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C., yesterday, Canadian Foreign Minister Brian Baird said this regarding the Keystone pipeline: "If there's one message I'm going to be promoting on this trip,...

Governor Mike Pence Fights For Marriage

GOP elites and Beltway consultants who wring their hands over how to handle values issues should take their cues from leaders in the states. Indiana Governor Mike Pence delivered his State of the State address Tuesday and did not hesitate to stand up for normal marriage.

Indiana has been an unlikely battleground in the culture war. While more than 30 states across the country overwhelmingly approved constitutional amendments...

Obama's Three Branches Of Government

When most of us went to school, we were taught that there are three branches of the government -- the executive branch, that's the president; the legislative branch, that's Congress; and the judicial branch, the courts. Yesterday Obama made it clear that he sees things differently -- there's the president, the president's pen and the president's phone.

Speaking before reporters during his first cabinet meeting of...

Nuke Deal Is Obamacare Of Foreign Policy

Like Obamacare, President Obama's nuclear deal with Iran gets worse the more we find out what is in it. The goal was to put in place tough conditions to stop Iran from developing its nuclear weapons program. Is that what it does? Not according to the Iranians.

Abbas Araqchi, Iran's lead nuclear negotiator...

Justices Challenge Obama's Abuse Of Power
The Supreme Court heard oral arguments today in a case challenging one of Barack Obama's many abuses of power. Like you, I am frustrated that Obama is getting away with what appears to be extra-constitutional actions. Rarely a day goes by when I am not asked, "Why isn't something being done?"
Well, something is being done. House Republicans have...

Obamanomics Still Not Working

Today the Labor Department reported that a puny 74,000 jobs were created last month. That is well short of the 200,000 jobs economists had expected. The "good news" is that the unemployment rate fell from 7% to 6.7%.

So how does a little job growth lead to a big drop in the unemployment rate? Only when seven times more people (525,000) drop out of the work force, meaning fewer people are working and paying taxes. Only 62.8% of the work...

Christie In The Crosshairs

Finally! The media have woken up and are focusing on scandals. What took them so long?

If you think I'm referring to the IRS scandal, sorry. That's not it. Is Benghazi on the front page of the New York Times? No. In fact, as we have reported, the New York Times has devoted its resources to aiding the Benghazi cover-up. Fast and Furious? Nope. Are the extra-constitutional actions by the president getting attention? Not that...

Gates Unleashed

A book by former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates has Washington buzzing today. In Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War, Gates blasts the Obama White House as excessively controlling and obsessed with politics. According to the Washington Post's Bob Woodward, Gates' book "simmers with disappointment in Obama" and "outright contempt for Vice President Biden." For example:

  • Gates writes that the Obama White...
